Has Tales of Whimsy ever been quoted in a book? My review of My Forbidden Desire is quoted in the front of My Dangerous Pleasure by Carolyn Jewel.

Recommendations:

For bloggers:
  • Find your own voice.
  • Just keep doing what you love and it will show. (The The Story Siren.com advised me of this when I was first starting out and I have never forgotten it. In fact, it has become my mantra.)
  • Do not be afraid to try new things. Your blog does not have to be like everyone else's. In fact I think most folks prefer blogs that blaze their own trails. I know I do.
  • Be kind to authors. These books (for better or for worse) are their babies and they each carry the author's blood, sweat, and tears.
  • Be considerate to your fellow bloggers and readers. We are all here because we share a common love for books. We are a dying breed. Spread some love to your fellow book lovers.
  • Give credit where credit is due. If you repost something you found on another blog, link back.
  • Read Book Blogger Etiquette by i swim for oceans.com.
  • Read How to Blog Without Comparing Yourself to Others.
  • Check out Book Blogging 101 and read Copyright on Images and Artwork and by Parajunkee.com.
  • Considering audiobooks? Read Audiobooks Guide and Instructions by Hot Listens and How to Write an Audiobook Review by Beth Fish Reads.
  • Have fun.

For authors:

For avoiding plagiarism:
    • Stop!
    • Get out a pen and paper.
    • Make notes of the points you're seeing that you would like to address in your own words on your blog.
    • Wait a few days. This part is important because it will help you forget what you've read and allow you time to come up with your own words.
    • Now sit down and type.
    • Still stumped? Ask a friend or family member for help. I can not tell you how many times Mr. Whimsy has helped me tweak or perfect something for my site. He is my proofreader and assistant.
    • Be you. Trust me your readers want to read you.
