I still haven't read this although my sister loaned it to me at one time. She said she liked it much more than Twilight. I started reading it but couldn't get into it at the time.
It does have a great first sentence. I hope you enjoyed the book.

That's a pretty creepy opening line. I am not sure if I will read more Stephanie Meyer adter I finish the Twilight series.
