Series: Montana Marriages Book 2
Authoress tagline: "Romantic Comedy with Cowboys"
Pages: 320 pages Publisher: Barbour
Available formats: Kindle, Paperback
Goodreads: The Husband Tree
Genre: Christian Fiction & Western | Romance
My summary: Belle swears off men after burying her third useless husband. Silas is all too familiar with feminine wiles and he doesn't trust women further than he can toss'em. Both have given up on marriage. But when a cattle drive forces them to work together, love begins to bloom in the unlikely saucy pair.
Plot: Believable
Characters: Spunky
Writing: Playful
My character take: Sassy Belle and sexy Silas stayed with me well after reading The Husband Tree. This is how I image Silas:
{PHOTO NOTE 1: IS LOGAN BARTHOLOMEW FROM LOVE'S LONG JOURNEY AND LOVE'S ABIDING JOY. PHOTO NOTE 2: IS MATTHEW SETTLE FROM INTO THE WEST}
My star rating: 5 out of 5 stars and so far my favorite in the Montana Marriages series. Book three, Wildflower Bride, is due out next month. Click here for my review of Montana Rose.
My final say: Hurry up May. I have to know what happens to poor Wade and Glowing Sun (who absolutely reminded me of Naomi Wheeler in Into the West)!

Wow! This series sounds like a "Western" series I might actually attempt. I love your description of the characters and how the story stayed with you after you were done. Definitely being added to my wish list. Thank you for the great review!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I'll definitely going to read the series!
ReplyDeleteSounds cute! What a great name for a book - the Husband Tree, I love it!
ReplyDeleteRomantic, love it already! Yes the pictures made me swoon. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Mary Connealy yet but this book sounds like a good read indeed! Where on earth do you manage to find all these un-heard of great reads Ju?!

Hey, I like the guy on the right! Never heard of him, but I like him!
ReplyDeleteI love books like these! I should put these on my list, Thanks Juju!
oooh, you know I love a good romance!! sounds like a keeper!
ReplyDeleteThose are some good looking Silases. I need to save those names. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not for sure if this is my type of read, but hai there Silases - you're very cute, lol Great review!
ReplyDeleteEver since I read These is My Words by Nancy Turner I have been drawn to these "western" style books. The trials and suffering these women went through is amazing! But the LOVE stories are amazing!
ReplyDeleteRomantic comedy with cowboys? Sign me up!
ReplyDeleteCharacters who don't feel like characters, but friends, is a great description and definitely makes me want to read "The Husband Tree." Based on your review, it sounds like you might enjoy "A Year on Ladybug Farm" by Donna Ball. I can't recommend that book enough!
ReplyDeleteWhile not one to make my TBR, your review was enjoyable and I can definitely see you why you liked it. The part about the characters being more like your friends, that's a great quality (and description) to find in writing. ^_^
ReplyDeleteLoved your review! I could feel the book's promise through it!
ReplyDeleteI don't generally read romances *or* westerns, but your review really has me tempted by this one (which surprised me). Sounds like something I would enjoy, and something that might break up the reading "funk" I'm in after finally finishing *Wicked*.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked this! I love it when the characters feel so close to you as you read.
ReplyDeleteOMGOSHers.
ReplyDeleteI love the header. I think it really rocks. It's so different from everyone elses
I *had* to comment because the combination of "Christian Fiction and Western" was just too much! Not your normal genre combo there!
ReplyDeleteI love the cover of this book but I know it's not my cup of tea story-wise.
Those cowboys can put their boots under my bed anytime!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of this series, but it sounds really interesting.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the new header!
ahhh, i want me a husband tree! this sounds like a great series! i love when a series makes you just watch that calendar and want to flip those days!!! That's a truly great feel-good book! Thanks for sharing such an awesome review!

Becki: Ooo slumps are brutal. Good luck and thanks for visiting.
Mary: My sentiments exactly. I'm always amazed that people survived and loved through those incredibly difficult times. I'm adding your recommendation to my list right now.
Miel: Thank you for the recommendation. I am adding this one to my TBR list right now too.
Wendy and Mary Connealy: You MUST watch Into the West. It's amazing, informative, emotional, and full of hottie cowboys.
