News Flash: More Nikki Heat?

Castle producers have just announced that my favorite make-believe mystery writer (Mr. Richard Castle) will be releasing a second Nikki Heat book. The sequel is scheduled to release this coming September and be approximately 240 pages long. No cover is available at this time. Will you be reading Naked Heat? (Goodreads link)

  4. Haha, I can't wait to see the next batch of novel references in the show. I think I prefer the show to the book.

  5. My wife and I both enjoy the TV series. She's much more of a mystery reader than I am, so she went and picked up the first book. She was a bit disappointed...she enjoyed the plot and characters generally but felt like the writing and flow was somewhat half-baked, mediocre and contrived.

  11. I need to read Heat Wave first!! On the show the other night, Castle threw out a date in July for Heat Wave coming out in paperback, do you know if that's the real life date for the paperback?

  12. Love Castle! haha Nathan Fillion at his best :)

When I saw "Heat Wave" in the bookstore I had a great laugh. I love how it's designed as if "Castle" were an actual author. Hey, even though I know it's a clever marketing tie-in, I'd go to a book signing if they had one! lol

  17. Scandalous title! I'm really excited to see they're publishing a second book. I haven't heard whether Castle got renewed for a third season, but this makes me think yes :) Am I the only one who thinks that Nathan Fillion is kinda dreamy?

  18. Lizzy: No way! He's definitely sexy. And I heard the other day the show did get picked up for another season. Whoot! I would have done cartwheels had I known how ;)

    Jenny Girl: Me 2 :D

  19. Husband and I enjoy the TV series - I haven't read any of the books though - what an interesting concept! I think I'll start with Heat Wave first and go from there :)

  20. I'm curious if they are actually going to make a movie of it, too. ha! I rushed to my store to pick up Heat Wave but stopped when I saw it was $36 in hard cover. Alas! So I am going to pick it up as soon as it hits the shelves in paperback.

I love that show so much. My parents DVR it and then send me the DVDs since it's on at the same time as the husband's wrasslin' show. (Not to mention the fact I am always in bed and asleep at 10PM on Mondays!)

It's renewed for a third season and I am SO HAPPY!

  21. Cat: NO WAY! It's only $13.00 here!

I feel ya girl! 10pm hurts me too. Thank God for Hulu.

I almost flipped when I heard of season 3 :)

Christa: I feel ya! :) Good call.
