1, 2, 3 Header Update & Winner

1. So my sweets, what do you think of my new header? It is everything I wished for; a bit retro, a bit whimsical, and of course a bit book. After I came up with the design, a friend/web designer (and Mr. Whimsy) helped me bring it to life. It isn't perfect and there is a very good chance I may have to adjust the typewriter, but the elements are totally moi. Input welcome!

2. The winner of my gently used ARC copy of The Girl Who Chased the Moon is Stacy from A Novel Source. Hip hip hooray Stacy! The Girl Who Chased the Moon is one of my favorite books and I hope you love it as much as I do. Thank you to everyone who entered.

3. Have you seen How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) featuring Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall, and Marilyn Monroe. My little sister and I watched it recently and loved it. It is cute, fun, and the costumes will make you go ga-ga. Lauren Bacall is deliciously mischievous. Definitely check it out!

Thank you to Pump Up Your Book Promotions for making this contest possible.

  9. Oh, it's a typewriter..... I didn't know what was going on, on the bottom until I read the explanation. I think it may be zoomed it a bit too much but that's just me. Love the look though. :)

  14. the colors in the header is quite nice and as you said, the typewriter does need a bit adjusting but it's quite whimsical and quite right for your blog

I would definitely expand to fit with the contents below

& an idea, perhaps typewriter ribbons rolling across instead of the typewriter? I don't know, just an idea. I do like the combination of the illustration with the typewriter

  21. My google reader has keep me away from so many beautiful blog designs. I love what you've done with the place! I apologize for not commenting much anymore as well. I seem to have no time for fun things right now and I read everything in my reader and think "ooo, I wish I had time to comment on that!".

You're one of my favourite blogs, too! I should be a better blogger and comment more. Sorry. ;(

  28. I really really like it! I'm interested to see how you change up the other elements on your page to compliment it. Also, you did it all on your own (with a little help of course)???!!! Wow! I'm really impressed! I'm terrible at this stuff and in need of some kind of change as well.

Well, you did a great job and I love it!

  30. Vicki and Andrea: I feel ya. I wondered that too. Thanks for your input.

NotNessie: Good question. I wonder what I can do to make it better. I've tried to keep the graphic widgets small and to a minimum.

Lissa: Ooo like trim more of it so it looks less blurry?

Jessica: Thanks. Do you think it might look better is I zoomed out a bit?
