What is the hatter with me?

I finally saw Alice in Wonderland.
Of course, my favorite part was the part most people disliked; I loved the White Queen.
In fact, I even looked over at Mr. Whimsy and declared, "I love pink and white rococo White Queen Land. I want to live there."
I'm such an odd duck.
What is the hatter with me?
Perhaps, I have too much muchness.

  1. I just saw this last week and I must say, I was impressed. I thought it was going to be creepy, but it wasn't. I loved the Hatter. I liked the White Queen too, although she looked like she could quickly turn chilly. My kids LOVED this too-especially my little girl.

  6. Darlyn and Titania: Me too :) I love how she pranced around with her arms up ;)

Steph: Right? I loved it. It's totally one of my favorites now.

Chelley: Oh please do. The clothing is gorgeous! I desperately want the little blue gloves and necklace pendant Alice is wearing in the beginning.

Adriana: Right? I loved it! And all those pink leaves lining the walkway up.

Elie: I was expecting the same thing and then I ended up pleasantly surprised. Sure it's Burton; so if you expect it to be dark, you won't be surprised.
Q: How old are your kids?

  7. JuJu,
I have two, a six year old boy and a 3 year old princess. I was worried it would be too intense for her,but she begged to see the movie where the princess falls in the bunny hole. She did not move for the whole movie. They were both cracking up during the tea party. I just made sure to tell that it is just make believe.

  11. Aths: Ooo I can't wait to see what you think of it ;)

    Jessica: Agreed :)

Nina: You're going to love it :)

Elie: That's awesome! When my sister was little, I use to play Labyrinth for her and she use to love it. This sort of reminds me of Labyrinth. It's dark but so cool that kids are bound to love it.

  13. The White Queen was a whack job! How could you NOT like her?! You definitely had to pay attention to what she said becuase she was so snarky, and I loved that. I won't say I liked her most, because I liked them all in their own way.

  14. No...I think you have just the right amount of muchness. ^_^ We've seen this movie twice. Once when it first came out....not that impressed, didn't quite live up to the hype in my opinion....and then the second time just before it was leaving theaters. It was actually better the second time around! (Oh and I liked the White Queen domain as well....quite lovely!)

GMR: I think I need to buy it. I want to watch it over and over ;)

  17. You can never have too muchness! The White Queen was cool, but thought it was crazy that she was considered the most sane in Wonderland.

  18. Decided to catch up on some blogs as my family and I were watching...
    ALICE IN WONDERLAND!!

    Funny, that.

    I adored the whole movie!

I think Anne Hathaway did great, she had to be just as bizarre as her sister for it to work anyhow!

  20. I loved this movie when I saw it in theaters...I have the DVD sitting at home, just haven't made the time to rewatch it yet.

Have you seen the SyFy Alice miniseries? Love it!

  21. I liked her land but I wasn't too crazy about her. She did a good job on the character but I don't particularly like her in the book either. I'll always be a Cheshire Cat and Mad Hatter fan foremost.

  22. I saw this this weekend too! :o)

I absolutely loved the entire thing! I don't understand why people said they didn't like Anne Hathaway as the White Queen??? I thought she did a fabulous job and it fit perfectly. My only qualm...why did Alice have to leave? This was definitely my favorite Johnny Depp movie by far, I just loved his character, there was something there that I hadn't seen before from him, just perfect! LOVED it!

  23. Nothing wrong with too much muchness! Can you have too much?

I didn't think that Anne Hathaway's White Queen was as horrible as people were making her out to be, she just wasn't a highlight for me. But now I want to watch the movie again :)

  24. Alita: Yah :)

1stdaughter: Right? It's not like she had some fly honey waiting for her? ;)

I agree about Johnny. There was a vulnerability to his character that I loved. Have you ever seen Chocolat?

    Tink: Wasn't Mr. Kitty fantastic?

Ruth? *gasp* Really? I didn't know! I'm off to investigate. Thanks for the tip :)

    Kavyen: It's quite splendid :)

Jana: Excellent point! How come I never thought of that? :)

Whitney: LOL ;) true true :)

    Christie: Agreed ;)

  25. I had a lot of fun when I watched this one. The thing you can count on with Tim Burton is amazing imagery. I actually liked the White Queen (and the her outfit). If she had been played anyone other than Anne Hathaway, things might have been different.
