Whimsy Update and Yakety-yak: I'm baaaack

I'm back! And I'm totally and utterly pooped...While I adore traveling, there is nothing in the world like coming home. I can't wait to get in bed and finish Emma. The last scene I read was so good and so romantic it gave me the chills. *le sigh* What is the last book you read that gave you goosebumps?

  2. I'm glad you are enjoying Emma! The last book that gave me goosebumps would be either Deception by Lee Nichols or Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead.

Sometimes I think that when I come back from vacation I need a vacation to recover. I will be going to Canada at the end of June for a few days and I am sure I will be exhausted when I get back!

  3. The last book that gave me goosebumps was A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott. It's a very twisted love story that gave me chills.

  4. Business or pleasure? I know traveling can be very exhausting.

I just finished Not Suitable for Family Viewing and loved it.

  5. 5 Monkeys: Matched? I don't think I've read that one.

    Amelia: Thanks darling ;)

Christina: Ooo Deception was good. Which part gave you the goosebumps?
Amen! Vacation can be so exhausting ;)

Whitney: That sounds marvelous. I must add it to my TBR :)

Elle: Pleasure ;) specifically visiting family. And that's defintiely a bit exhausting when your trying to see so many people on such little time ;)

Not Suitable? Interesting. I'm off to learn more about this title.

  6. Oooh, I love those sort of scenes in books~ I so have to read Emma, she's one of my favorite Austen characters in films, she's so much fun. :D

The last book I read that gave me a serious case of goosebumps was, I think, The Joy Luck Club. My friend recommended it but it was really, unsettling? The graphic details scared me. D: I had to put it down more than once to take a breather.

  7. Hmmm, well I just checked my book list and since I don't read romance and hardly ever even love stories, it has been a very very very long time since a book gave me goosebumps.

  8. Anna: Oooo it's been ages since I read that book but I remember loving it and being really really moved. ;)

itsJUSTme: I don't read much romance either. But sometimes goosebumps can come from something moving, thrilling, scary, or exciting. :)

  9. Welcome back. I got goosebumps, but not good ones, bad ones when I read "Sylvia" by Mr Courtney.

  10. Hope you had fun!
Yay for Emma! I am watching the BBC movie right now (only 50 minutes left!), and I realized that I've never actually read the book. I L<3VE Jane Austen, so I don't know what that's about!

  11. Yay! So glad you are back and enjoying being at home with a great book!

I think your question is entirely the reason I need to read something fun again. I've been reading too many "serious" and "thought-provoking" books, I need a book that sweeps me away to another place. I need some good suggestions??? (Sorry, I'm thinking more recent, not that I'm not sure Emma is great, I just can't handle "classics" right now either.)

So glad to have you back! :o)

Emma is such a fantastic book. LOVE it.

The last book that gave me goosebumps- MY NAME IS MEMORY. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I'm completely obsessed.

  17. It was emotional overload, but in a good way ;) The writing was gorgeous. Just an all around beautiful coming of age story with a bittersweet ending. Not a light, fun read. I finished days ago, and I can’t stop thinking about it.
