First Words: Istanbul

"An entire summer in Turkey alone with my father. When I first heard about the trip, I was so excited. I didn't sleep for two days. But now that I had logged the obligatory twenty hours of jet travel that it took to get to the Middle East and another week in Istanbul itself-the hot crowded capital of Turkey-I was having second thoughts."

  8. He was a favorite author of mine for several years, yet, I've not read him since high school. Maybe it's time to pick up a Pike book again.

  19. I'm ready to read it! I rarely read reviews when choosing a book-- I choose based on the synopsis in the inside cover and first lines. I'd check this one out just from that beginning-- hope the library has it.

  22. OMG! Christopher Pike! I used to love him when I was a teeneager, I read heaps of his books and I had totally forgotten about him. He wrote horror stories for teenagers when I was reading him. Im so glad you have reminded me about this author, I might have to find one and try it out for a trip down memory lane
