Wishin' and Hopin': Girl Parts

This Wednesday, I am totally crazy to try Girl Parts by John M. Cusick. Tell me it doesn't remind you of Weird Science (1985)?
So far the reviews are mixed, however I am really interested to
try something that sounds like it is geared towards male readers.
Info: Girl Parts is scheduled to release August 10, 2010 Click here to read an excerpt.

Goodreads blurb: "Hello, David. My name is Rose. It’s a pleasure to meet you. We are now entering minute two of our friendship. According to my Intimacy Clock, a handshake is now appropriate…"

{Video advice: Wait or fast-forward to the part with the author.}

Does anyone else suffer from a post-80s crush on Anthony Michael Hall?

  1. OMG! I have wanted this book since the moment I laid eyes on it! The cover alone is absolutely perfect, and a YA "girlie" book aimed at boys? It's too good to pass up!

  30. Great pick Juju! And it comes out soon. I really love the video and thanks for posting a link to the excerpt. I like your Teaser Blurb too. Wonder if the author has problems being mixed up with John Cusack? I can't believe what Anthony Michael Hall looks like now! He's like a totally different person. I love Sixteen Candles.

  34. Stacy: LOL Are you serious or poking fun at me? I have the weirdest lingering crush on him. Which is weird 'cause he was a total skinny nerd in the 80s. ;)

    GMR: LOL Buffy Bot? I had totally forgotten about that. I use to love Buffy.

    Julie: OMG! I was thinking the very same thing! :) As for AMH, SO true! He was soooo skinny. I feel like having a Molly Ringwald marathon now ;)

    Tina: Agreed :)

    Christie: Right? As a Latina with dark curly hair it bugs me :) Thanks for understanding.
