Wishin' and Hopin': Meridian Deux

Kim (The Book Butterfly) totally made my night when her Waiting on Wednesday informed me of Wildcat Fireflies. The sequel to Meridian is due out some time next year. Meridian was one of those books I unexpectedly fell in love with. While I'm not crazy about this cover (does her neck look funny to you?) I can not wait to find out what Meridian and Ten are up to.

  2. I have not read Meridian, however I have heard great things about it.

I am not crazy about the cover. She does look a bit akward. I don't like the green as much as the red, its not as eye catching.

    Great pick.

  14. I was a bit dubious about Meridian so I haven't read it yet, but your review has made me think I should give it a shot! Also yes - her neck does look a little odd in that pose...

  20. Well, now you've given me a real reason to pull Meridian off my shelf! I quite literally bought it because of the cover, no other reason, and then ran out of time to read it. So, definitely going to have to pull this off the shelf. Although, I'd have to say, like you, I like the first cover a bit more. :o)

  25. I still haven't read Meridian, but I'll have to pick it up. I think the neck thing is a mix of angles and weird photoshop. The rest of the cover is cool, though.

  31. Oh man, I've yet to read Meridian. But I've heard fantastic things about it. So I'll definitely go and get it soon! :)

  32. Don't you love when a book surprises you with how good it is? I'll have to check out Meridian. Based on the description I just read, I think this one could go either way for me... (love/hate) :)

  33. I totally agree!! I didn't expect to quite love Meridian as much as I did. The characters were endearing and I love that there was a depth to this book that you rarely find in other YA novels.

As for the cover, I don't mind the colors and butterfly art, but I like the model's pose on the first one much better.

    Can't wait to read this!
