First Words: Periodically

"There are some men who enter a woman's life and screw it up forever. Joseph Morelli did this to me - not forever, but periodically."
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

So far the story is a bit crass but totally funny.

  1. you described this book perfectly! it is crass and normally that's not my style - but it was so funny that i found this series compulsive reading (although i dropped off reading them around book 6 or 7? they started to annoy me by then :)

  3. Oh, I think I'd enjoy that. I can usually see past the crass if it's funny enough & it sounds like it is!
    Thanks!

  4. They are crass. But the funny parts totally make up for it. They are pure mindless entertainment and sometimes that is exactly what you need. I loved these books.

  8. Oh wow...really? Periodically? Hmm...makes me wonder if someone needs a little anti-so-and-so spray. May help keep them away to avoid more periodic interference.... thanks for sharing!

  9. This is the first in the series isn't it? I've heard the same, but if it's funny too then it does make up for it.

  14. Yeah, this series doesn't hold back in the crude department. Still, I always end laughing hysterically, and enjoying them :)

  16. Oh my! I've really tried to stay away from those types of guys and thankfully have only had to deal with one really bad one. Great pick!

  17. 1stDaughter: You and me both! Back before I was married to Mr. Whimsy, I use to steer clear of those like the plague ;)

Michelle: Ya know, I'm having that problem to. I think I'm having a hard time connecting with the heroine ;)

  20. i never could get into the series...even when i worked in the bookstore and people would come in raving about her books...i tried so hard, but i just could not do it. some lines are funny - like the one you posted (and true) but the story, the plot, always fell flat for me ~ good luck with it! i will be interested to hear what you think...which by the way, did you ever finish the Colorado kid? and YES - I finally had to buy the last 2 episodes of Haven on itunes so I could watch them and OMG!!!!! that's all I know to say...what's your take on it? or Mr. Juju's? I have no one else to ponder it with....

  21. Stacy:
    1. Re Miss Plum = Yup. I totally am having that problem.
    2. Colorado Kid = I haven't found the book yet. Everyone wants too much. Did you ever get a copy?
    3. Haven = OMG I bought the last two episodes too. We bought ours on Amazon. I could NOT wait for SyFy to make it free on Hulu. Haven was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! Mr. Whimsy and I screamed when she said she's Audrey Parker! Whoooot! I had no idea how they were going to spice things once they both admitted their truths to one another. BUT the writers found a why to spice it up don't ya think? *le sigh* I have no theories but I can not wait for my show to come back.
    4. So do you want Audrey with Nathan or Duke?
