Happy Saturday chickadees!
I hope whatever you're doing is fabulous, relaxing, or both. So while I was visiting books in their native habitat yesterday (that beautiful enchanting place I rarely visit thanks to the convenience of the world wide web otherwise known as the book store) these 2 super covers caught my attention. A Marked Man looks perfectly mysterious and old world, while Christmas at Harrington's makes me smile and ponder the upcoming holidays. Can you believe Christmas is only a little over two months away? I don't know if I should squeal in delight or worry that I haven't started shopping yet? So what books have stopped you in your tracks lately?

I am in denial. There is no way that Christmas can be coming up that quickly!
ReplyDeleteTeresa: LOL I know the feeling :)
ReplyDeleteI was just saying today that I can't believe Christmas is almost two months away! Time is really flying. I LOVE both of those covers! Thanks for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteThey look terrific! I absolutely would have picked them up as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat Finds!
Christina: Right? It really has flown for me this year. Probably because I moved this summer :)
ReplyDeleteGina: I didn't buy them :( BUT I really am thinking I want to go back for Christmas at Harrington's :)
I love the covers of Christmas books!!!
ReplyDeleteChristmas at harrisons has a great cover!! i love it
ReplyDeleteI have not visited a bookstore in quite some time, so none for me. I live vicariously through you. The Marked Man looks interesting though. I'm with you there. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI know! Christmas! Eeck! I have to plan a dinner for like 80 women and I'm totally freaking out. I know it's going to be here before I know it. But thanks for the heads up on the Christmas book! It looks so pretty and I've been searching for a new Christmas title for my book club. :o)
ReplyDeleteJenny: Yeah! Me too! :)
ReplyDeleteJenny Girl: Thanks doll :) That is very sweet of you. I don't go often either. :)
1stdaughter: A dinner for 80 women? No way! Where are these women from? You have a book club? I'm totally envious. I need one :)
You sure find some delightful covers! Love both of them!
ReplyDeleteOh, OH! I saw that second one in the bookstore today! ^_^ Great finds, Juju....but isn't it crazy that Christmas stuff is already out....EVERYWHERE? It's barely Halloween! I mean I LOVE Christmas time but seriously....I also like celebrating one holiday at a time! Cie la vie. Happy roving! ^_^
ReplyDeleteAths: Thanks sweet pea ;)
ReplyDeleteGMR: I know what you mean. I think more and more retailers are trying to skim Halloween. Maybe it's just not a big money maker? But you're are right C'est la vie. :)
Christmas books make me so so so happy! :D
ReplyDeleteXmas already! That means ... stockings.. mistletoes.. me getting into my Claus suit..ehem as MRS CLAUS! Here we go!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the reads :)
I totally, totally love the look of Christmas at Harrigton's. I bet that you feel all Christmassy the moment you saw that cover. Really good!
ReplyDeleteMelissa: Me too :)
ReplyDeleteAisle: Hey you and this book may have something in common with that Mrs. Claus outfit. Sounds like loads of fun :)
Shy: I did actually. It's quite the lovely infectious feeling, isn't it? ;)
Love those covers! A Marked Man looks so intriguing,
ReplyDeleteAh, I cannot believe Christmas is only a couple months away. Guess I start my Christmas shopping soon, right? I always leave it until the last minute :P
christmas at harrington's and a red coat sound appealing. and the year is ending sooo fast. eek!
ReplyDeleteLea: LOL I'm usually the one that does everything in advance. Not this year though ;) I've totally dropped the pre-ball ;)
ReplyDeletevv: Right? Crazy!
I had the opportunity to review Christmas at Harrington's but I passed. Seeing that cover again makes me wish I didn't :-(
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee
Renee: Really? I'm envious :) That is a bummer.
ReplyDeleteHehe...the dinner is for a group of women from church and we are planning a progressive dinner. It's going to take place at at least 3 (possibly 4) different homes in one evening. I'm totally freaking out about it, because I'm in charge! Eeck! Should be fun though - dinner, including all the courses, entertainment, music and a gift for everyone that comes!
ReplyDeleteThe book club...well, it's a funny thing. I'm more of a "token" participant as I don't generally like what they're reading though I've normally heard of it. There are about 15 women that come and I'm the youngest (at 31) and most are at least 60 if not much much older, but all are from my church. It's really quite fun, even if I don't read the books that month because they all dote on me like I'm their long lost grand-daughter. I love it! I've actually convinced them to read the Hunger Games in a few months and I can't wait to see their reaction! :o) You definitely need a book club of your own, they're really fun!
oh how i love Christmas and the presents..!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the bookstore as am broke :(
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Christmas! Although October is making me pretty happy right now. I'll be on the lookout for good holiday reads!
ReplyDelete1stdaughter: Whoa. Really? That sounds like allot of fun but a super dooper lot of work. May the force be with you :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the book club, I would LOVE that. For some reason, I really love older folks :)
Hunger Games? No way! I can't wait to hear what they think too! You should share their reactions on your blog :)
Darlyn: Me too!
Cherry: I feel ya doll! Thank goodness I have a gift card :)
Meredith: Agreed and true true :)
I can't believe Christmas is that close! I'm still getting over the fact that it's not summer anymore. I wouldn't have been able to pass up those books either, they look great :)
ReplyDeleteI love both covers :) can't wait for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt hit me that Christmas is getting close last week went I went to the store and they had a bunch of Christmas stuff - chocolates, cakes etc.. I mean, already?!!
ReplyDeleteI like the cover of Christmas at Harrington's though, it makes me want to spend Christmas somewhere where there will be snow :-)
Arielle: Amen to that! Will you believe that every year we visit my husband's family in Kentucky and every year - I miss the snow. It snows before I get there or after I leave. It's like I bring the warmth with me. ;)
ReplyDeleteShantal: Me neither :)
Katie: So true! :)
Yay Christmas!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm squealing in delight over here, and I suppose I'll get to the worrying about shopping later.
I love the cover for Christmas at Harrington's. Makes me wish we could have a little snow in Florida for the holiday season :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these covers! They are fantastic and make me want to curl up in front of a roaring fire with a mug of hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteExcellent choices, Juju. And I refuse to acknowledge Christmas yet.
Briz: LOL ;) That's sorta of my strategy too :)
ReplyDeleteKim: Amen girl! Amen! :)
Lori: LOL When do you normally? :)
