Have you heard or tried eBook Fling? According to PCMag.com, the site just pre-launched today and they are calling themselves "the Netflix for books". It reminds me of Paperback Swap for eBooks. If you lend an eBook, you earn credits so you can borrow an eBook. Don't have any credits yet? They cost only $1.99. Check it out and if anyone has tried it, I am anxious to hear what you think. Personally I am seriously considering trying it for Eat, Pray, Love.

Facebook has a kindle club where Kindle users can borrow/loan books. It works great! :-)
ReplyDeleteShannon: Good to know! Thanks for the tip. I had no idea. Do you have a link?
ReplyDeleteThis looks interesting! I just got on the waiting list for some ebooks from my library. I'm thrilled that I can borrow the books without leaving the house. I'm going to check out the FB club Shannon mentioned, also. Thanks for this post!
ReplyDeleteRenee Ann: Way cool. Your library sounds better than mine ;) Glad to help!

ReplyDeleteOh that is very cool! You know I bought a nook but I have never read a single book off of it?! I need to test it out. I think I'm having a hard time making the jump from printed books to e-book. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah looks great, but I think I would like to hear what other people have to say before I jump on board.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this before! I love the sound of it :)
ReplyDeleteIt was only a matter of time when this would hit. I really love my Nook but Im nervous about paper books future...:/
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check this out.
ReplyDeletei've heard but haven't checked details. btw: my fave part of Eat Pray Love was the stint in Italy. still must watch the movie.
ReplyDeleteBriz, Natalie, and Kaye : Yah! Let me know how it goes :)
ReplyDeleteKim: Oh no Kimmy. Say it ain't so? If you had a Kindle, I would swap you with free read suggestions ;)
Walltowall: I feel ya ;)
Melissa: Right? Me too!
Edilicious: Thank you for visiting :)
Tina: Amen! I was just thinking about that the other day. I went into a B&N and could not believe the costs of print books these days. My prediction? Big book stores like B&N and Borders will die off. Companies like Amazon & Book Depository will increase sales. And we will see a rise in the small bookstores again. :)
Vv: Good to know and yes you must see the movie :) The scenes of Italy were breath taking :) My fav part of what I've been able to read is her hunger for nearness to God :)
Awesome!! Thanks for the recommendation, Juju! I loved the movie Eat, Pray, Love. Have you seen that?
ReplyDeleteJulie: I did :) The love parts annoyed me but the locations and her search for faith charmed and lured me :) I think I need to read it. Have you read it?
ReplyDeleteI have an e-reader but am hesitant to join. Juju but if you end up signing up dont forget to tell us how it is.
ReplyDeleteJenny N.: Will do ;)
ReplyDeleteI like that idea. Thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteHmm. It sounds really cool, actually. I'm glad you posted this. I'm on my way to check it out. I don't have a Kindle, but I have books on someone else's Kindle that I borrow now and then. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I signed up for an account. Don't quite understand the logistics but I'm interested to find out more.

Oh-oh, I don't know if I love this or what...Well, actually I love this idea because all these books wait for me to read and NOW I can rule the world ;) and then part of me is "great, now all I'll want to do is read and I'll never get anything else accomplished" lol..thank you SO much for letting us all know about this. I can't wait for the site to officially launch!
ReplyDeleteWow! This I need to try! It sounds so wonderful, though I'm really curious how it works with Nookbooks, which, if permitted, can be lent only once through the LendMe program.
