Well Said: Say, Live, How

"I nod mutely. My voice is upstairs in my bedroom in protest at this awkward social situation."

"It is easy to say you know something, but a completely different matter to live it with your being."

"It was easy to forget that along with what you do, it is how you do it that is important."
My review of Love in a Headscarf by Shelina Zahra Janmohamed is coming soon. In the meantime, please check out the Love in a Headscarf site for more information about the book and the blogger behind the book.

  37. As far as I know, Muslim women don't get to pick their lovelife, it got chosen for them by their parents... with dowry... this should be itneresting....

  38. Cherry: As far as I can tell (I am by no means an expert) that is true but not all Muslims look at it that way. Shelina plays an active role in choosing her mate. Her parents never force any one on her and genuinely want her to choose the right person for her. They were so patient with her. I was really marveled by the relationship she has with her parents. :)
