Did you hear? A new Alice Hoffman book was just released. Have you heard anything about it? It's been rather hit-or-miss with me and the Hoff lately. I loved Practical Magic but Skylight Confessions failed to charm me. Will you be trying The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman?

Sounds like a great story, the title is catchy and I like the cover.
ReplyDeleteAlice Hoffman has been on my radar for a while, but I have yet to pick up any of her books! Love the cover of this one.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read any of her books, but this sounds really good, so I'm adding it on my tbr list :)
ReplyDeleteCan I say how much I love the cover?!?! The author name sounds familiar but I haven't read any of her books. I'll wait to see what you think about the book.
ReplyDeletei have a couple of her books but i haven't had the chance to read them yet! actually i take that back, i read the mermaid YA one :)
ReplyDeleteElie: :)
ReplyDeleteMeg & Alek & Cari: Realllly? Then I recommend Practical Magic for sure. Did you ever see the film? :)
Carrie: O I remember that one. It was young but cute and the movie was sweet :)
I haven't read any Alice Hoffman books yet, but everyone says I should read Practical Magic. It's on my TBR list!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any Hoffman yet, but I have been meaning to. A lot of my friends love her books. I really like the cover of this one!
ReplyDeleteI've always meant to read her considering Jodi Picoult rates her as one of her favorite authors and I love Jodi. Never read her though. Which one should I start with?
ReplyDeleteHave not read anything by the Author. Hmm sounds decent enough
ReplyDeleteMeredith: I agree with the common sentiment you've heard ;) PM rocks.
ReplyDeleteChristina: :)
Michelle Red: I did not know that :) That tells me something about Jodi. :)
Cleverly: Hummmm I'm thinking you'd like her adult stuff :)
I haven't read anything by Alice Hoffman yet, but I want to read Practical Magic soon. This sounds interesting, though. I'll have to check it out. I love history, and add fiction that, and I'm almost guaranteed to love it! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome choice!
ReplyDeleteOh you bet Ill be reading it. Hoffman is one of my fav authors. You cant have as steady of her though or you can get Alice'd out! My fav of hers is The Story Sisters...so haunting and beautiful.
ReplyDeletePenelope: I hope you love Practical Magic :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth: Why thank you :)
Tina: Ooooo I don't think I've read that one :)
I haven't read any of Hoffman's books yet. Which should I start with? :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know practical magic was a book--I'm going to look into it. I've never heard of this author.
ReplyDeleteI've been working on my daughter's scrapbook and I used the silhouette in your header on the cover. When I saw it I thought "this looks something JuJu would like".
ReplyDeleteI almost bought Green Angel by Hoffman over the weekend, but didn't end up getting it; I've never read anything by her (that I can recall), but I've heard goof things.
ReplyDeleteAlas...I've heard nothing so far, but the cover is terrific!
ReplyDeleteIt does look good. I do love the cover.
ReplyDeleteNever read any of her books, either! Is Practical Magic the same as the movie? Or is different. I like the cover on this book. Love lanterns!
ReplyDeleteHaven't read her stuff. I did see the Practical Magic move - I love the cover!
ReplyDeleteI did like practical magic the movie
ReplyDeleteWondering Wednesdays--love the W's!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this but I actually have one of Hoffman's books sitting on my shelf! (but it's not Practical Magick...which I want to read because I loved the movie adaption!) The Red Garden looks fantastic though--and that cover! So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI also loved Practical Magic, but that's the only thing I've read by her. The title of this one sounds good, though! :-)
ReplyDeleteProbably not but like many others I did like Practical Magic.
ReplyDeleteI love that cover so much, I'm sure I'd read it ;)
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read anything by Alice Hoffman although one of my coworkers has been telling me that her books are fantastic. I might try her YA books first and see.
ReplyDeletepretty cover! :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Hoffman yet. Though I've been meaning to read Practical Magic.
ReplyDeleteJessicaBookLover: O I hope you do :)
ReplyDeleteChristina: She is one of the few authors I recommend you try her adult stuff first. Her YA is quite young. :)
Melissa, Chelley, Briz, Alyssa, ParaJunkee & GMR: *smiles* thanks for stopping by
Jenny N.: Me too :)
Sandy: O now I'm curious. I wonder which one you have? :)
Renee Ann: Thanks :)
Cari: Wasn't it awesome? :)
Julie: O me too! I'm lantern crazy. To answer your question: the book is better but the movie is really well done. They changed the age of the daughters but the film still carries the same vibe and integrity of the book. :)
Misty: Green Angel is good but (like I was telling Christina T.) I think her adult stuff is much better :)
Kaye:
1. Oooo I hope you like it :)
2. Ahhhhh thanks for thinking of me :) I adore silhouettes. I can't wait to have one made of me and Mr. Whimsy.
Shannon: Practical Magic for sure :)
I'm considering reading this one, I might look for some blogger reviews first before I decide to though.
ReplyDeleteJill: Good point! :) Thanks for visiting :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Allison Hoffman and I'm wondering who she's similar to. Perhaps Cecelia Ahern? A bit of magical realism? I may have to try this one just to see if I might like her other books. Thanks so much!
ReplyDelete1stdaughter: I don't know Cecelia Ahern but you have me thinking I should try her. Do you recommend a specific one?
