"When you're a teenager, you're forever thinking: Do they like me? When you're a grown-up, as anyone over the age of thirty can attest, the question becomes: Do I like them?"

Sometimes when you go back to a school reunion, you have to check your luggage and make sure you don't pack your former insecurities. If there still isn't anything in common, it's okay.

Definitely true! Some of my favorites 80s movies are: The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink. Andrew McCarthy has had a role on White Collar (USA) as a bad guy. Every time I see him I think of Blaine. Heck, every time I see Jon Cryer I think...Duckie! LOL I know Ringwald is on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, but do you remember that show she was on briefly called Townies? Great book cover!
ReplyDeleteJulie: OMG me too! LOL I just saw a commercial with him in it and thought the same thing! Remember that romantic scene were they steal a kiss in the alley? *le sigh* Jon Cryer will always be Duckie to me :) Thanks for the lovely walk down memory lane. Now I'm suddenly craving The Pick-Up Artist ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the teaser because it is so true. I'm not 30 yet but I already see the change in me. Thanks for sharing.

molly is a fave from the 80s, no doubt. pretty in pink is the most memorable role of hers for me. the book sounds like a cute one and i wonder if she speaks of her time in france.
ReplyDeleteVV: While she doesn't directly discuss it, she does mention it from time to time and I believe it really does influence her style :)
ReplyDeletelol I'm not 30 yet But i find myself asking the same Q. <3 Molly is fave actor eva! 16 candles, Breakfast club, PNP. love her
ReplyDeleteNow I want to see Pretty and Pink again. I so wanted her prom dress. I forgot about The Pick-Up Artist! Love Robert Downey, Jr.
ReplyDeleteFaye: :) Right on! And major kudos for being a fan of the old flicks! I LOVE them too! I have had a seriously yearning to rewatch the Breakfast Club :)
ReplyDeleteJulie: Oh my gosh, me too! *high five* I like him now, but I LOVE 80s Robert Downey Jr. ;) He was so sweet, mischievous, and doe-eyed :)
