Gruen's Cameo

I know Water for Elephants movie news are everywhere BUT I had to pass this on just in case you hadn't heard it. According to a recent interview in BookPage:
"Gruen and her entire family have cameos in the movie. Her big moment comes when Robert Pattinson (as Jacob) brushes past her during a tense scene with a runaway circus animal. "I'm the astonished woman watching an elephant (Rosie) steal produce!" she says."
Cool, right? I know I will be keeping my eyes pealed for Ms. Gruen.

  7. I always think it's fun when authors are somehow involved with the film version of their books. I'll definitely keep an eye out for her when I go see it.

  8. Ok I'm not sure what rock I've been living under, but I didn't know this none was going to be made into a movie. I loved this book!!! I don't know if I'd appreciate as much as a movie but I bet my dad would.

  14. I'm just hearing all about this film now in Australia after a gorgeous photoshoot of Reese Witherspoon in the style of the film. It looks like an incredible must read book....x

  15. Cool. It's always fun when the author/writer makes a cameo. Like Stephen King in almost (or maybe all?) of his books turned movies...and even Stephen Meyer in Twilight. ^_^

  18. I may have mentioned before (like a thousand times or so) that I adore this book. I can. not. wait. to see the movie. Though I'm having a hard time deciding if R Patz is a plus or a minus to the whole situation.

  36. Oh! Very cool! I love author cameos like this! I also recently found out that Emily Giffin, who wrote Something Borrowed (movie is coming in May) has a cameo in her movie as well. So exciting!

  44. Oh! So I should have said, probably, that I found out about Emily Giffin's cameo from her. I had a conference call interview with her last weekend about the movie and other bits. That was something we talked about. She's going to be sitting on a bench reading a book in one of the scenes with Rachel in it. I can't wait! I'll have my interview up in about a week. (I'm not allowed to do it sooner, because it has to be close to the movie release.) I think you'll love the movie though! Excellent Chick Lit! ;o)
