This is how I celebrated the 119th anniversary of the ice cream sundae. My kamikaze sundae (bit of hot fudge, strawberry, and caramel sauce) and some discount book shopping at my nearby used book shop.
What I scored at 1/2 cost:
The Undomestic Goddess, Can You Keep a Secret?, Bitter Sugar, & Jane Eyre
Can you believe I've never read Jane Eyre? Shame on me! Bitter Sugar is about a Cuban private investigator written by a Cuban private investigator. Being half Cuban I had to pick it up.
So tell me my sweets, did you do anything sweet today? Or did you perhaps buy or receive any cool books this week?

All your stash looks good! I only read Jane Eyre for the first time two years ago and it is one of my best favorites -- hope you like it as well. The new Jane Eyre movie didn't play here, so I look forward to seeing it. As far as the other film versions, overall, I liked the one with Tobias (Toby) Stephens in it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll like Jane Eyre. It is one of my favorite classics and I'm looking forward to watching the movie though it won't be in theaters near me.

I love that picture and The Undomestic Goddess is an absolute riot! Jane Eyre is in my top five books--I re-read it at least once every year or so- I think you should definitely read it first though it will ruin some of the suspense of the movie...actually that's a tough one! Eek! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that sundae was yummy !
Kim Butterfly: Yah! :)
