Sundae Sunday & Shopping

This is how I celebrated the 119th anniversary of the ice cream sundae. My kamikaze sundae (bit of hot fudge, strawberry, and caramel sauce) and some discount book shopping at my nearby used book shop.
Can you believe I've never read Jane Eyre? Shame on me! Bitter Sugar is about a Cuban private investigator written by a Cuban private investigator. Being half Cuban I had to pick it up.

So tell me my sweets, did you do anything sweet today? Or did you perhaps buy or receive any cool books this week?

  1. I loved Jane Eyre back when I read it in high school...It definitely has a surprising twist!

Hope you enjoy them all, Juju! :)

  2. Awesome! Gotta say that I LOVE your idea of a sundae....mmmmm....gonna have to go to DQ and get me a kamikaze sundae :-)

And Bitter Sugar looks REALLY good....dontcha love those 1/2 price finds??? Thanks for sharing!

  3. I fell in love with Jane Eyre when I was a teenager. Hope you enjoy it!
And mmmm, sundae! Now I want one!

  4. Your picture makes your day look like my dream day! Jane Eyre - a lot of people hate it and some people love it. I've never met anyone who has not reacted to that book. Hope you had a fun-dae - get it? (Sundae).

  7. I want that Sundae!! Yummmmy! I didn't know it was the 119th Anniversary. Sweet reads :P I read Jane Eyre in high school. It's very good. Don't be embarrassed, there's tons of books I haven't read! I like the red purse, too! Happy reading :)

I tried reading Jane Eyre in high school, but did not finish!

  21. All your stash looks good! I only read Jane Eyre for the first time two years ago and it is one of my best favorites -- hope you like it as well. The new Jane Eyre movie didn't play here, so I look forward to seeing it. As far as the other film versions, overall, I liked the one with Tobias (Toby) Stephens in it.

  22. I hope you'll like Jane Eyre. It is one of my favorite classics and I'm looking forward to watching the movie though it won't be in theaters near me.

I liked The Undomestic Goddess but I prefer the Shopaholic books.

  44. my sweet came first thing in the morning. The phone rang waking me from sleep, it was my grandaughter. "Grandma it's my birthday", she sang out, "I'm five today!". She then whispered, "But don't tell grandpa, I don't want any birthday spankings."

  55. I love that picture and The Undomestic Goddess is an absolute riot! Jane Eyre is in my top five books--I re-read it at least once every year or so- I think you should definitely read it first though it will ruin some of the suspense of the movie...actually that's a tough one! Eek! :)
