"My book and heart must never part."
Hey kittens! What's shakin bacon? How is your Saturday going? In preparation for my upcoming move, I boxed up my books recently and now I am totally suffering from TBR shelf separation anxiety. Argh! What was I thinking? Anywho got any plans for the long weekend? Mr. Whimsy and I are heading out of town for our rental house hunt and I am still under the weather. Wish me luck and fill me in on your holiday plans and what books you're taking with you or planning to crack open this weekend?

Mmm... Bacon. :) My plans for the weekend include the beach: Surfing. Reading. BBQing. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your weekend!
JessicaBookLover: *smiles* Surfing, BBQ, and reading? *high five* sounds perfect. So got any ideas what you'll be reading?
ReplyDeleteGreat post and lovely blog. I'm relaxing with "Story Engineering." Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteLadyD: Why thank you to you too!
ReplyDeleteNo long weekend here so no plans ;
ReplyDeleteI unfortunatley have to work this weekend. Hope everyone else enjoys the time off. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you don't feel well! :(
ReplyDeleteI plan on reading Die For Me by Amy Plum. Then, Divergent by Veronica Roth!
Good luck with the house hunting!
Jennifer of Little Shelf
Fab quote! Have a great weekend! Thanks for participating!
ReplyDeleteBlod: Well thats ok. Any books you're planning on reading this weekend?
ReplyDeleteGina Precious: BUUMMER!
Jennifer A: Why thank you! Die for Me looks great and I've heard amazing things about Divergent.
Freda: No prob doll!
Great quote, and I totally agree!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I am reading a book called Heaven is for Real, a little boys story of his trip to heaven and back. Really enjoying it so far!
Janet Ruth: O - O - O! I want to read Heaven is for Real. I saw the boy on a special on tv and become totally fascinated with his story. I am definitely looking forward to your review. Thanks so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Alabama visiting family and attending graduations. It is so hard being so far from where you've grown up. BBQ and airplanes. That's my weekend and plans. I just finished the Peachkeeper and I'm not sure what I want to read next. I'm experiencing a book hangover.
ReplyDeleteAlexis: I feel ya. It's so nice being near family. Enjoy the BBQs, fam time, and planes. I can't wait for your review of The Peachkeeper. I adore SAA. I'm experiencing a reading funk myself. Good luck! Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteNo big plans but I did go shopping yesterday. I did manage to not buy any books but trust me it was very tempting.
ReplyDeleteJenny N: O *high five* self control queen!
ReplyDeletegood luck with the house hunting, juju!!
ReplyDeleteBlah, hope you're feeling better! My weekend has consisted of working, and monday I'm hoping to enjoy some nice weather (fingers crossed, because we're supposed to get thunderstorms), and catching up on summer course reading
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute! I love it, "What's shakin' bacon?!"
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm basically doing nothing this weekend. Just recovering from the Armchair BEA madness of last week and hoping to get caught up on a few much needed posts to be put up. Mostly, I just hope to sleep...we'll see what the kiddos think of that! HA!
Hope you're feeling better soon!!! And good luck with the house hunt, hopefully you find the perfect one very quickly! xoxo
I had no idea you were moving. I must have missed something somewhere! Anyway, having moved myself recently, I know what you mean about the tbr anxiety. I still have most of my books in boxes...ugh! I hope you have success in your house hunting. And get to feeling better soon, girl!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better! And that the rental house situation gets settled. I'm sending you non-stress vibes right now. Tomorrow I'll be lying out by a pool with some friends and cooking things on the grill--very stereotypical American long weekend.
ReplyDeleteFeel better, Juju! I'm heading back to New Hampshire via Virginia tomorrow - 13 hours in the car, and I'm SO not looking forward to it haha :)
ReplyDeleteTake care Ju! And Goodluck with your move!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!
ReplyDeleteI hate not being able to take lots of books with me. So I always keep my Kindle loaded! Hope you find the perfect place and the move goes well, Juju.
ReplyDeleteAw, hope yo feel better and you find a good rental. Still working on the same books, Deja Dead, Joy for Beginners. Did lots of knitting though :) Have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteOh, feel better soon dear! I know the feeling of having to separate yourself from your beloved books. I had to pack mine up last April to move and I only brought a small portion with me to my temporary residence. In the fall my parents and I finally moved into a house and now I don't even have all of our books unpacked yet and we're moving again! It's too much.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend, Juju!
I hope you feel better soon :) I can totally understand your TBR separation anxiety because I suffer from it too whenever I am away from my home and my books :D
ReplyDeleteOh have fun on your search!
ReplyDeleteI stayed home this weekend. Not doing much tomorrow either! Good luck on your search and hope you feel tons better, lady!
ReplyDeleteAw, I hate that feeling when your books are gone, and you are just *sure* that something will happen, or that you wanted to read one of them.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better, and have a great weekend!
Best quote ever:) Love it! Have a fabulous holiday weekend!
ReplyDelete"shakin bacon" LOL same old boring stuff. Work, work and more work! :( Get better soon chick!
ReplyDeleteI think I would have had to wait until the very last second to pack my books. I hope you found a house and I hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteanother fabulous picnic box (suitcase) pic! good luck with the hunting and feel better!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Juju! It'll be okay...the TBR will still be there when you unpack finally. As for your weekend plans, sound like a blast! Me....um, working. Yep...and a little reading when I can. Let's see finished THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WALK IN THE WORLD by John Baxter, KINDRED SPIRITS by Sarah Strohmeyer, ABITHICA by Susan Goldsmith and just started MY LIFE UNDECIDED by Jessica Brody. What can I say? Variety is a favorite flavour of mine. ^_^
ReplyDeleteAll the best!!!! I'll be having a bit of an adventure myself, spending some beach time in FL!
ReplyDeleteAt least you have your kindle, yes? That's the beauty of that! :P
ReplyDeleteOh oh .. I would totally freak out if I couldn't see my books! I hope you had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love that quote--I didn't realize you were moving, good luck with everything. I'm not reading this weekend, just spending time with the family.
ReplyDelete@Juju: I started reading Ashfall by Mike Mullin. It's not a typical beach read, I guess. It's a dystopian about the aftermath of a major volcanic eruption and so far it kind of reminds me of Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer. :)
ReplyDeleteI just got back from my long trip out of town for the long weekend. Crazy how a couple of days can really throw you off.
ReplyDeleteSo here is hoping that you feel better soon and get settled quickly. :)
Travel safely.
I hope you're feeling better, Juju! :)
ReplyDeleteI read The Night Circus over the weekend - and it was fabulous! Definitely the perfect story to read into the night :)
I hope you're feeling better, Juju :( Um, I can't remember much from my weekend. All of my memories seem to be twisting together ever since BEA (which was SO much fun this year!). Right now I'm reading what's left of my TBR pile so I can finally not feel guilty about it when I pick up another book. I finished one of the three left yesterday and I'l planning on reading another this weekend. >D
ReplyDeleteGood luck hun! And I hope you feel better soon. I also wanted to say a big thank you for all the recommendation to read Solid and all the comments on the blog. Lots of love.
ReplyDeleteP.x
Hope the house hunting went well. I spent the long weekend fighting a nasty stomach bug (hence my late commenting). No fun :( Hope you’re feeling better too!
ReplyDeleteLizzy: I hope you got that weather you were hoping for :)
ReplyDelete1stdaughter: Ahhhhh I bet they get you up early huh? :)
Michelle: Thank you :) And I hope you finally got to unpack :)
Meredith: Ahhhh thanks I could use those :) Sounds like the perfect long weekend deal to me!
Melissa: Ouch! Safe travels :)
Renee Ann: Thank you :) What a perfect wish for me.
Jenny Girl: Knitting? I must learn how! Anything cool?
Casee Marie: Ahhhh that's way to much moving. Boooo! Good luck though :)
Blueice: What do you do?
Bermuda: That's always the plan but because the collection is so big and easy to pack, they are usually among the first things :)
GMR: A perfect flavor indeed :)
Maya: Which beach? :)
Tipsy: Yes but for some reason, it's never the same. The Kindle is good for long weekends but not weeks at a time :) Thank you though.
JessicaBookLover: I need to go back and see if you ended up loving it :)
Missie: Amen sister! :) Thank you!
YABookQueen: Sounds like it :)
Sandy: You go girl! Very mature of you :) I'm so bad at that.
Paula: No prob :) Your blog is such fun!
Christie: Oooo goodness I hate those!
Carrie Hammock, Cherry, Jillian, Penelope, Jenny Snark, Misha, BeachVintage, VV, Julie, Aths, Midnight, and Kaye: Thanks dolls!
