2¢ Worth: The daring and inventive P.J. Hoover creates a blend I never would never have imagined = 50% dystopian + 50% Greek mythology! The result? A fresh, intense, dark, creepy, mysterious page-turner. Solstice is incredibly unique, gripping, and nearly impossible to put down. 5 stars
Whine: Just one! I figured out the secret before Piper and seriously wanted to urge her to catch up.
Wire tip: Solstice by P.J. Hoover is only available as an eBook and is a TOTAL steal for just $2.99 at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.
Whippersnappers: O my my my! This one is best suited for older teens (or adult fiction fans that occasionally dabble in YA) due the the continuous visits to a very vivid and hellish Greek underworld, underage drinking, steamy make-out scenes, nudity, and profanity.
A huge thanks to Ravishing Reads for bringing this book to my attention.

This sounds like one I would like. Time for a wishlist add! Great review, Juju!
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like a good book, could do without the swearing and sex, but I can ignore all that. LOL
ReplyDeleteGreek Mytho must be the new rage this year, so many books are coming out about the Gods and legends. I love it!! Ill have to add this one too.

ReplyDeleteI've heard this one is really good. But I appreciate the warning about the content.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...well the combination DOES sounds refreshing, but oye the content! May pass on this one, but great job on the wee-review!
ReplyDeleteI find that YA MC's always seem to be behind a bit.
ReplyDeleteAdded to my wishlist as it sounds very interesting (and I will skip the parts that offend my prudish nature) and I had not heard of it before. Thanks, Juju!!

ReplyDeleteOoo this sounds good! I'm such a huge fan of both Greek mythology and dystopian, so mixing them together makes me feel like it might just be my birthday! Looking forward to reading this one!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that annoying when you figure out a secret early on and you spend the rest of the book saying to the other characters "Okay, are you going to get it now? How about now? Howwwww about...... now?" I'm glad, though, that you still really liked the book. Sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds interesting. 5 stars. I'm one of those adult readers that dabble in YA so I might just give it a try.
