Well Said: Bones, Dreams, Rage

"Nothing I have written or done has made any difference in this world, and suddenly I know what it means to rage, and to crave."
"That's how I know they are dreams. Because the simple and plain and everyday things are the ones that we can never have."
"They have perfected the art of giving us just enough freedom; just enough that when we are ready to snap, a little bone is offered and we roll over, belly up, comfortable and placated like a dog I saw once when we visited my grandparents in the Farmlands. They've had decades to perfect this; why am I surprised when it works on me again and again and again?" ~Matched by Ally Condie

ReplyDeleteJessicaPeaceLoveBooks, Rebs, & Walltowall: I've heard that. Maybe it's because it's a slower paced story?

Liz: No problem :) Thank you SO much for stopping by. Your blog is so lovely.
ReplyDeletei've seen mixed reviews on this. glad to hear you liked it.
ReplyDeleteVV: :) Do you think you will try it?
ReplyDeleteOh yay! So glad you finally got to read this one. It was an AMAZING story...so simple and yet so much at the same time. Can't wait for the next installment! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI just think this is the type of book you either like or don't. While I didn't hate it, it just didn't do anything for me. I liked the characters, just not the story line enough to continue reading. I guess I don't like the whole fantasy thing. Which is weird because I like reading paranormal and magical realism.
ReplyDeleteGMR: Yes exactly. Simple is a great word!
ReplyDeleteWalltowall: I feel ya doll. I find that dystopians really are a required taste. They don't appeal to just anyone. Thanks for your input.
I've heard tons of fantastic things on Matched. It really makes me feel like I'm missing out, hehe. I need to get to this one soon. I love the covers for both of these. I will be looking forward to reading your review!
ReplyDeleteBere: So do. I think you'll love it.
ReplyDeleteI liked it too! And thanks for the heads-up on the sequel: I'll be keeping my eyes open for it.
ReplyDeleteI adored Matched so much, I'm glad you're a fan too! If only it were November now...
ReplyDeleteSerena: :)
ReplyDeleteYA Book Queen: Amen sista!
wow, sounds like this was really good!!
ReplyDeleteCarrie: So good! I hope you try it.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually one of those that just didn't love Matched that much. Boo! :o( I still adored the writing and the concept so I'm eager to see where the story goes. I'll definitely be reading Crossed once it's out. Can't wait to read your review for this!
ReplyDeleteDanielle: Really? I need to check your review :)
ReplyDeleteI looove the concept of Matched. I've yet to read it though. I've heard plenty of good things about it :D
ReplyDeleteJustine: Ooooo I hope you like it. :) I know you like slower thoughtful stories.
