Yackety-yak: Once Upon a Time...First Impressions

So did you watch
Once Upon a Time? What did you think? I love it. I am so hooked. I want to rewatch t
he first episode again. I never say that. I love the subtle little hints. Like the invitation for apple cider, the wolf, and Granny's Bed & Breakfast. And how hot is Prince Charming (Josh Dallas)?

  1. I absolutely LOVED IT! This is my kind of show.
I love the fairytale stories all twisted together and modernised! It's amazing.
And yes, prince charming is very dreamy.

  3. I haven't watched it yet. I recorded it though! I are you interested in watching Grimm?

  4. I really enjoyed it myself! I hope it lasts. Pushing Daises was the same type of show and got canceled because not enough viewers. :(

  5. OH. MY. GOSH! I cannot WAIT to see this - my "rule" for television is to wait for the DVD set though, so I'll be patient and await the release to DVD. "Grimm" looks awesome too.

My Anxious Life: I 100% agree with you - "Pushing Daisies" was adorable and should never have ended. Those "types" of shows though don't seem to do very well - what is wrong with ABC!?

  7. Oh boo hoo! I wanted to watch this sooo bad but since one of our TVs died last night I was out of luck I drew the short straw so to speak so I was the one without a tv. :-( Oh well at least ABC posts episodes to view the next day on their website!! Glad you liked it.

  9. I watched! I even had an alarm set on my phone so I wouldn't miss it! I really liked it, so hopefully it will last---seems like shows that I love don't last long: Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me. All favorites of mine...all gone too soon :(

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh crap I totally missed this and I really wanted to see it. Now I'll have to ee if I can find it online. Glad to know that it was good though! I was hoping it would not disappoint.

  27. Dang!! I didn't watch it! I'm so bad about keeping up on tv shows!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. BB: You gotta check it out :) Check out Hulu.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I was 1 minutes and 5 seconds into the pilot and I wrote on twitter/facebook that I was already sure that the woman playing Emma Swan would make a better Stephanie Plum in One for the Money that Katherine Heigl will.

I think it has potential. I liked Henry and Emma. Not so sure about the other characters (except maybe the Evil Queen). I am hoping it will stay good!

  30. I haven't watched it yet, but it's on my DVR. Must watch later!

  32. A bunch of people were mentioning this show on Twitter but I didn't have a chance to watch it. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I noticed they have the pilot up on ABC's website, so I'll definitely have to check it out while it's up. Hopefully they'll continue to put the episodes up on the site since I hardly ever manage to catch a show while it's airing.

  35. Cat: True! I SO agree with you! :) I just don't know if KH can convince me she's tough.

I liked them too. I'm curious to learn more about Red Riding Hood.

    Gabrielle: Enjoy :)

Melissa: Oh yeah when the evil mom/queen invites her in she offers her cider ;)

JessicaBookLover: I'm so like that too. Luckily it's a Sunday night so I don't usually have much going on on Sunday nights.

Nomes: Ahhhh I hope it goes there! :)

Tina: OMG me too! I was holding my breath. I can't wait for more.

  40. SO EXCITED!!!! I missed the first episode sine I was out of town, but I can't wait to get caught up and see if it's as good as the previews made it look. Glad to know you loved it Juju!

  41. Jenny N: On Hulu! :)

Jenny Snark: :) Can't wait to hear what you think.

  44. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but do have it marked in my hulu box. I'm so glad it sounds like a winner. I'm such a fairy tale nut & can see this becoming a new fave show. Will let you know what I think once I get a chance to watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I loved it too! I also wanted to rewatch it, which never happens. Don't Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Morrison look a lot alike? It definitely looks promising.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I know - by waiting for the TV on DVD, I am a little "strange" in that way. =D I get "annoyed" when I can't get a hold of the latest movie I want to see upon its release to DVD, but am willing to wait an entire year for my fav TV shows - go figure! lol!

"Pushing Daisies" is adorable - I'm actually getting my reviews written/polished and going to post them sometime in the next week! What was wrong with ABC!?

Cannot wait to see the reaction to "Grimm."

    ReplyDelete
  47. Stacy: Right on :) Can't wait to hear what you think!

Kelli: Right? Me neither. I never rewatch stuff. And you are so right. They definitely have facial similarities. :)

Rissi: I feel ya though. It's nice watching shows without commercials and waits in between.

Oooo cool. I will have to keep my eyes pealed for that review. :) I still miss PD all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oooohh.... looks like something for me to look forward to :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Ah yes. This series is looking really good judging from the first episode. Emma was pretty awesome as she chased that guy down in heels lol. Fairy tales are awesome! And the little boy is adorable!

I also watched the preview they had up for Grimm and that was kind of on the scary side. They really know how to use sudden noises...but it ended on an unexpected note so I am definitely going to be watching the full episode.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Isa: Wasn't she? Bad a$$ really :)

I haven't seen much on Grimm yet but thanks for the scary warning :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Omgsh! We all loved it! My military channel watching dad was even hooked! Can't wait for the next episode! And Grimm. So looking forward to Grimm.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Alyssa: Oh right on :) Too cool! Me neither.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Okay so I just HAD to come back and say I LOVED IT! It doesn't have the feel of a series but rather a miniseries but I still loved it and HOPE ABC keeps this show around. We need more shows like this on non-cable channels IMO.

    XOXO~ Renee

    ReplyDelete
  54. Renee: Wahoo! Thank you for coming back and letting me know :) You're right, it definitely carries a miniseries vibe. *fingers crossed* & amen! We do need more shows like that on non-cable channels :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I completely forgot to set my DVR for this. Ugh! I've been so excited about this show since I first heard about it last spring. So glad you loved it :) I'll have to watch it online.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Christie: Don't worry. It's on Hulu. Enjoy :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I thought it was very cool, imaginative, and fun. Though there were moments of extreme cheese, but it will by no means, stop me from watching to see what happens...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Britta: LOL Now I'm wondering which parts felt cheesy? :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. I didn't get to watch it, but I've heard good things! :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yeah, I love it, too :) I have to admit that I wasn't sure about Josh Dallas as the prince, but after the last episode, definitely perfect. He really is Prince Charming ;)

    ReplyDelete
