So The Vow opened this weekend. Did you see it? And did you know The Vow is actually based on a true story? Apparently two months after they got married, a serious car accident left the wife with absolutely no recollection of her husband. Their story (The Vow: The True Events that Inspired the Movie) has been released as a book as well. I will definitely be adding it to my TBR.

I just cried reading this story....it's awesome! Now I want to see the movie!

Right? Me too. I wanted to see it before (I LOVE Channing) but now I reallly reallly want to see it. Such an incredible story.
DeleteThank you so much for sharing the link :)
I saw the movie over the weekend it was very cute!
ReplyDeleteI just read on Publisher's Weekly that it was based on a book. I have not seen it yet but I want to. I really like Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum is great eye candy. Are you planning on seeing it?
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be seeing it :)
DeleteI <3 Channing. Definite scrumptious eye candy.
Well, thanks **sarcasm** I wasn't even a bit interested & now I'm going to need to forgo my reading time for this.
ReplyDeleteBy the way... You also got me hooked on Once Upon a Time. Even hubby's enjoying it.
LOL :)
DeleteOMG I have my hubby addicted too :)
Wasn't last nights good? I love that they put to rest who remembers Fairytale Land.
Ah yes...I saw the preview for this one prior to ONE FOR THE MONEY the other week. It's on my MUST SEE list for certain. As for the book, I did actually know that! ^_^ Our store can't keep it on the shelf...new release + the time of year + what seems to be a most endearing tale of love = perfect match.
ReplyDeleteO fabulous! I'm so glad to hear that.
Deletei want to see this movie! it looks really sweet. and rachel mcadams is usually adorable in everything :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Even when she's playing someone I dislike (i.e. Time Travelers Wife) I still love her performance.
DeleteOh, oh, oh! I can't wait to see this!!! Since the birth of the little b we haven't set foot in a movie theater, but I have a feeling it will be just as good via Redbox :) LOVE that Rachel McAdams!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya sista! I haven't either. Actually since before the baby.
DeleteSo I too may be waiting for RedBox ;)
It'll be just as good (if not better) at home I'm sure!
I definitely want to see this movie, but I'm trying to get my hands on the book first, lol!
ReplyDelete... and did I see above that you're a Once Upon a Time fan too?! :)
:)
DeleteI am! I love it! Last night was soooo good!
Did you see it?
I still miss the sheriff.
I haven't seen the movie but I had no idea it was a book...that's interesting...
ReplyDeleteSomething is holding me back from seeing it right away....I tend to want to see really big movies out and quieter movies in...
I can understand that. So that nothing interrupts the emotion or total experience :)
DeleteI had no idea it was a true story! Wow, how sad. I'll have to get the book. :-)
ReplyDeleteSad but good! I saw them on the Today show this morning and they are amazing together. They made me teary. :)
DeleteOh my gosh, I didn't know it was already out! I have to see this one. I didn't know it was based on true events, wow. I'll have to read the book too. Thanks hun!
ReplyDeleteI really want to see this movie :D ! But it's going to be released only in May here in France we're so late :(.
ReplyDeleteOh bummer! :) At least you'll get to read all the reviews first :)
DeleteThanks for visiting btw :)
I saw the movie, loved it, I cried hehe
ReplyDeleteThe end is a bit abrupt, but I plan on buying the blu-ray
Hey, Tynga! I read that the ending was a bit sudden but at least that means that the viewer can speculate and come to whatever conclusion we want about the ending. =)
DeleteSometimes that is better... and sometimes that is worse.
Tynga: Awwww and good to know! :) The fact that you're planning on buying it says allot.
DeleteRissi: I do love when it leaves an ending open to interpretation :)
Actually, the movie ends and then they give us a tidbit about the real couple it was inspired by =) Liked it!
DeleteOh that's very very cool :) I love when they do little things like that.
DeleteI cannot wait to see this one! Don't know that it will be in theaters but I'll definitely see it. Viewers are complaining about its "realistic" way of complimenting the "real" story. Nevertheless, I am really excited about seeing the film - plus I love the two leading stars. ;D
ReplyDeleteThey're complaining about that? Weird. Good to know! Thanks for the info/tip.
DeleteYes I looked this up and found it was a true story. Made me want to pick up the book as well. And I love me some Channing Tatum so I really do want to see this movie.
ReplyDeleteMe too! *high five* We appear to have similar taste =
DeleteExhibit A: Jacob Black
Exhibit B: Channing Tatum
At first I thought this was just a happy-go-lucky chick flick, but it being a true story adds a whole 'nother layer. I definitely hope to be watching this one.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how I felt! :)
DeleteI SO want to see this movie! Sadly, it's been years since I've been to the movies. I may just have to break that spell with The Vow.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya sista! Me and Katie were just saying we haven't been to the movies since our babies arrived. You should break that spell. And if not, there's always RedBox :)
DeleteI really want to see this movie! I knew about the book, but I didn't know it was based on true events.
ReplyDeleteI did see this movie over the weekend. It was sweet, but the best part about it was Channing bare butt! LOL
ReplyDeleteDid you say bare Channing booty? *fanning self* LOVE him!
DeleteThanks for the great news.
Did you see the movie he has coming out this summer? It's called Magic Mike and is based on his days as a stripper. I'm ashamed to admit, I can't wait.
I haven't seen the movie, but I think that it is wonderful that it is based on a true story. I want to read the book first :)
ReplyDeleteI saw an interview with them this morning and damn near bawled by eyes out. Their story is amazing!
ReplyDeleteOMG me too! I was standing there in front of the TV with tears! Was it the Today show?
DeleteI saw it Friday night...hopefully I'll get a post up before the DVD releases. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL ;) I look forward to it.
Deletethanks for the news flash--the story sounds amazing
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I want to see it in theatres since I cry very easily so will end up crying my eyes out.
ReplyDeleteI think that is what Patty was saying (in a sense). Sometimes a good tear jerker is best enjoyed at home.
DeleteI'm going to see it tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYay! I hope you'll review it.
DeleteI didn't know there was a book about it, but when I saw the trailer I thought it looked like a Nicholas Sparks kind of adaptation. Thanks for the info. I have yet to see the movie, but it looks like a good one.
ReplyDeleteI thought it had a Nicholas Sparks feel when I first saw the trailer too :)
Deletethis one looks like a true tearjerker! i have to watch those kind of movies at home because i cry so much!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya ;)
DeleteHaven't heard of this! Guess I'd better wait for the DVD since I'd cry...
ReplyDeleteI had no idea this was based on a true story. Makes me want to see it even more!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I reacted :)

ReplyDelete*fingers crossed* for you :)

ReplyDeleteMegan @ Storybook Love Affair
Me too. She is so good at every role she ever plays.
DeleteI haven't seen the movie, but I want to. I had no idea that it was based on real life events. I must check out the book! Thanks for sharing this and Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThank you sweetie :) Did you and your honey do anything special?
DeleteIm going to see this tonight for Vday...:D Cant wait......the hubs is not excited but I CANT WAIT!!!! LOL......

DeleteI can't wait to see this! It sounds like such an amazing story, and I had no idea it was based on real people. Now I want to see it even more:)

ReplyDelete♥ Melissa @ Melissa's Eclectic Bookshelf
Oh wow, I had no idea the movie was based on a true story, Juju! I am definitely going to check that out now, thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteWendy ♥ The Midnight Garden ♥
I wonder if I should read/watch this or not. Especially if the ending is near-heartbreaking. >_<
ReplyDeleteWell I know the real life story ends good so I'm hoping the film does as well :)
DeleteI can not wait to see this movie, plus I'm a huge Channing Tatum fan ;) I seen that there was a book about it, I plan on checking that out.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
Kayla
OMG me too. He's SO cute it should be illegal.
DeleteA belated Happy Valentine's Day to you too!
That's so sad that it's based on a true story (but I"m sure it has a happy ending if the movie came out for Valentine's. At least I hope so!) I probably won't see it until it comes out on DVD, but I do want to see it eventually. :)
ReplyDelete:) Right? What a challenge.
DeleteI'm going to see this today. I had no idea it was based on a true story. So glad I found out before seeing it!
ReplyDeleteYay! Enjoy! Let me know what you think :)
DeleteDidn't know it was based on a true story either. Didn't get very good reviews ... which doesn't mean I wouldn't like it! I don't always agree with "popular" opinion.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya! :) Some of my favorite romantic films have gotten slammed before. I think it's because the reviewers never go into to get whisked away. :)
DeleteI haven't seen it but want to. I love a good romance.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I forgot to say earlier that I spent my valentines afternoon watching Breaking Dawn!!
*high five* Good for you! :)
DeleteI have not seen this yet but I really want to! I love Channing (eye candy) and Rachel is an awesome actress. But I will probably wait a bit to see it because this one looks like it tugs at the heart strings and I'm in the mood to see something more lighthearted, more comedic. xD
ReplyDeleteOh me too! LOVE him!
DeleteI get like that too. Sometimes I only want happy movies. Speaking of, I really want to see This Means War.
Yea, he's a cutie-pie
DeleteI know, right? And it's like you read my mind LOL, I am also dying to see This Means War. I think I'm gonna see it on my bday (this Sunday). It looks so fun! But definitely will see it before next weekend :)
Oh right on! *high five* The next time Mr. Whimsy and I have a sitter, we're so going. Let me know what you think of it :)
DeleteWill do :)
DeleteBack to report :D
DeleteThis Means War was hilarious! So funny!
I loved it. :)
Ooo I'm so glad to hear that. I can't wait to see it! Were you happy with who she picked?
DeleteI think I'm going to take myself to this movie this week while I'm on vacation. I doubt my husband wants to see it. And sounds like it's a tear jerker, so it's best I go alone so I don't embarrass the fam. I get loud and snorty at tear jerkers.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I saw it alone recently (Mr. Whimsy was working and my mother in law stayed with the baby) and I'm here to tell you, it's good girl but it is a tear jerker. I was moved to tears several times.
DeleteI hope this movie comes to the UK :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! *fingers crossed for you*
DeleteI'm seeing it. how can I not? it's romantical. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL :) Let me know what you end up thinking of it, k?
DeleteWow...I wasn't aware that this was based on a true story.
ReplyDeleteRight? I wasn't either :)
