Doesn't this look awesome? As a junk shop junky, I feel like I am always coming across old textbooks, cookbooks, encyclopedias, and Reader's Digests that need homes but don't exactly appeal to many book lovers. I am positively itching to get my hands on this one.
What books are you wishin' and hopin' for this week?

Oh my goodness I absolutely love this!! I totally need to get this book, it looks like tons of fun!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thats great! I love the cookbook utensil holder!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check this out more.
now I'm wishing and hoping for this one. I love that shelf made of books!
ReplyDeleteYay!
DeleteI do love that shelf.
I think it would also work with books that have received "too much love" from new young readers and are missing pages.
That IS awesome! I could easily see that utensil holder in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI love it--especially the cook book. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, this looks so cool!! I'll have to see if my library has this one! I definitely want to check it out!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. It looks like a booklovers dream decorations. :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are SUCH neat ideas! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is totally cool. And I recently repurposed a book into a tech gadget holder and it was brilliant so I'd def be interested in learning some more ways to give them new life.
ReplyDeleteOoooo I think I remember that. Did you post pics? I think I marveled at your mad skills.
Deletethose all look great to do around the house :)
ReplyDeleteYou KNOW this is just up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI've found that a lot of people are persnickety about the idea of books being repurposed as anything BUT books, so proceed with caution!
I feel ya! SO true!
DeleteI think with some books (like vintage gorgeous copies) it's like sacrilegious but there are lots of books out there just rotting away.
I LOVED your placemat idea for books that Lulu has damaged.
If you get the book and make anything from it, be sure to let us know. I love that utensil holder!!
ReplyDeleteWill do! :)
DeleteWhat an awesome idea! I love that utensil holder, too, and am always trying to think of cute bookish projects to complete. The bookshelf (made of books!) is great, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for copies of books 2 & 3 in Jennifer Nielsen's Underworld chronicles trilogy to arrive. :-)
ReplyDeleteOooo sounds good! :)
DeleteI love book art also and keep links to the ones I really love to buy when I have my own small home library, definitely adds appeal.
ReplyDeleteYou and I think alike ;)
DeleteIt looks amazing! So many great ideas :)

Wow, I need this book in my life! Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try one of these projects since I'm always seeing people doing different things with books.
ReplyDeleteOh yes that book looks super fun...:) What am I wishing for??? Well Ill tell you Juju- I wish my magic fairy Amazon mother would send me Everneath and Balthazar..lol....
ReplyDelete*smile*
DeleteMaybe our magic fairy is backed up on orders ;)
that's fabulous! Makes me wish I were crafty!!
ReplyDelete♥Melissa
Awesome! I would love the old cookbook for my kitchen stuff! I wish I was a bit more crafty though, because I'm not positive I could pull these off.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya!
DeleteI'd probably pick up several used cookbooks so I could mess up on a few first.
How creative. I wonder how people come up with these amazing things. I wish I were more creative. Until then, I'll have to purchase books like this so I look creative :)
ReplyDeleteI feel ya!
DeleteThat's why I cruise DIY Crafts.
I need the ideas to make it happen :)
Then I'm all like, "I can do that! Why didn't I think of that?"
I saw this at the craft store but won't repeat the thoughts that went through my head. I didn't think of all the outdated books available so I'm glad you posted! Much better then just throwing them out
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. When you first think of destroying books it's tough. Especially beautiful ones that deserve to be treasured. For me it would have to be kind that don't get much love. :)
DeleteFantastic! Thanks so much for sharing this. I definitely want to try some of these ideas :-)
ReplyDeleteBeth
Looks like some really neat project ideas. =D
ReplyDeleteHmmm... what am I wishing for? Well... Kingsbury's latest novel! I want to finish the series. Why couldn't it release a week earlier!? =)
Ooo anticipation! I hope time flies for you! :)
DeleteLove the project ideas, especially for books that have fallen on hard times. Did one project once and created a cover for a friends new ereader.. *sigh* ...still, saved the pages to read. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI think I remember you doing this! Was is it for Danielle?
DeleteWouldn't it be cool to wallpaper with those pages? I've always wanted to do that.
DeleteI have a mountain of old text books I don't know what to do with. This gives me ideas...
ReplyDeleteYay!
DeleteThe books I'm wishing and hoping for are not old ones but new publications I couldn't wait to get released like Tricked by Kevin Hearne! :)
ReplyDeleteOoo waiting is so hard to do! *fingers crossed that time passes fast for you*
DeleteOh oh me oh my what bookish fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThe book lover in my is cringing at the idea of cutting up a book...but the crafter in me is positively itching to start one of those projects! :D
ReplyDelete:) That's why I emphasized those books that really don't get purchased :) But I feel ya!
DeleteThis book looks like it's full of cute ideas! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen something like this before. A friend made a wreath out of old books she got at the thrift shop. At the time it made me cringe to think of cutting up a book, but better to cut it up then throw it away, you know?
ReplyDeleteExactly :)
DeleteWhat a fabulous idea. I want this book!
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I'm so with you dude!!! I'm a huge crafter!!!! I totally need this!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should SO post some of your crafts. I would love to see them. :)
DeleteI love it! I have skimmed the book but need to look at it again!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute book! I like the cookbook one. I'll have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteHow fun is this?! I especially like the book shelf and the toy storage. So adorable!
ReplyDeleteAmen for fun, cute, and creative toy storage :)
