Mama Whimsy has been listening to The Language of Flowers written by Vanessa Diffenbaugh and narrated by Tara Sands. Baby Whimsy has been listening to Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! written by Dr. Seuss and voiced by Mama Whimsy.
What books have you been reading or listening to this week?

I bet Mama Whimsy does a fabulous job! I'm reading The Language of Flowers right now and I'm loving it.
ReplyDeleteI sure do try. I get all animated and try to change my voice around. :)
DeleteI can't wait to compare thoughts on The Language of Flowers.
I'm reading Cold Flat Junction, a mystery story with a wisecracking 12 year old protagonist. Love it but want to read it more than I have time to and it's killing me.
ReplyDeleteOh, the lovely Dr. Suess days! So precious! Are You My Mother? is my favorite Suess but I learned to read with One Fish, Two Fish and Go Dog Go.
Fascinating. I can't wait for that review.
DeleteYou've inspired me to order Are You My Mother? from the library :)
oh how sweet!! :))
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteAww Baby Whimsy is soo cute!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteAww...Baby Whimsy is so beautiful! And I bet she thinks that Mama Whimsy is the best narrator out there!
ReplyDeleteI loved The Language of Flowers...hope you do too.
Thank you :)
DeleteShe does love my voice and she's learning young to scan the pages.
So cute!!!
ReplyDeleteAll the Whimsy's are good listeners!!!
Thanks :D
DeleteAnd you're right. I hadn't thought of it that way but you're right.
I have a copy of The Language of Flowers but haven't read it yet. One of the many books stacked on the floor of my office, waiting to be read...
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying the audio! I recently listened to Little Princes by Conor Grennan on audio and I thought it was excellent.
I am glad Baby Whimsy is enjoying Dr. Seuss. I loved it when my mom read to me or told me stories. Some of my earliest memories...
Oh right on! Will you be reviewing the audio? I would love to hear your input. :)
DeleteAwww that is exactly the memories I want her to have. :)
I still have a special place in my heart for Dr. Seuss. Starting that reading bug early I see...loves it!
ReplyDeleteThat's the goal. She's only 4 months old but I'm already taking her to baby storytime at our local library. ;)
DeleteI need to read The Language of Flowers! I have yet to do that!
ReplyDeleteSo far it's really sad but good! :)
DeleteI love these posts.....mama whimsy..that is so cute and is that picture Valentina?? Even with only a check and eye to see, she is adorable...:D
ReplyDeleteAw thanks :) And yes that's her. Thank you :)
DeleteAww, Baby Whimsy is an adorable little munchkin! This is silly, but I've never heard of a baby listening to an audiobook before, lol.
ReplyDeleteWell it's narrated by me ;) 'cause she can't read. A bit of a joke.
DeleteSo cute! I can't wait to read with my kids someday -- and I'm sure Baby Whimsy will grow up to be quite the wonderful reader herself. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I sure do hope so. :)
DeleteI'm re-listening to Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris :)
ReplyDeleteOne day, I must try CH. I hear her books are awesome. I just wish there was something non vampy I could try.
DeleteNice picks! I've heard the first one is pretty good, though no experience with it myself...however baby Whimsy's choice, fabulous! Dr Seuss is a favorite at any age. ^_^
ReplyDeleteHe does transcend age doesn't he?
DeleteI love the lesson in this one.
I've been reading a Nicholas Sparks (my first novel by him)and a Christian novel by Colleen Coble, plus I just finished Bewitching. So many great books out there! =)
ReplyDeleteColeen Cable is suppose to be great.
DeleteWhich Sparks?
:)
Awwww, Juju you have the absolute cutest baby! Dr Seuss is the greatest, I'm glad to hear Baby Whimsy enjoys his books! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :) She's a girl. Not that you can tell that from her nearly bald head.
DeleteAww, your baby is adorable! I keep hearing good things about LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS, hope you're enjoying. :)
ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
Cute pictures! I've been interested in reading The Language of Flowers. I love how Baby Whimsy is holding the book ;) The books you can narrate are awesome! Hope you both enjoy your books :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI think they just got a screenwriter for the film adaption. :)
The Language of Flowers is on my tbr list. Baby Whimsy is adorable! A future reader!
ReplyDeleteThanks :D That's this mommy's goal.
DeleteLook at those little baby apple cheeks! So kissable. Glad the Whimsy girls are listening to some good stories :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I call her Peaches sometimes because of her peachy cheeks.
DeleteHow's your new puppy doing?
She is doing great! Loves to cuddle especially at night when we sleep. Right in between the hubby and I, so she can touch both pf us, and yet keep us separated :)
DeleteAwwwww! :)
DeleteI love Baby Whimsy's thoughtful expression. So cute :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm really trying to foster an appreciation for books. Last night she feel asleep gazing over my shoulder at my Parenting magazine 'cause she just loves the printed page.
DeleteOh my god! How cute is that photo! I need to start to get into audio books- I think I would get so much more reading done. I am definitely interested to hear your thoughts on The Language of Flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks doll :)
DeleteOMG I know some mommies work in reading but I'm not sure how they do it. I thank God for audiobooks.
How's your little one going? Name yet?
LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhen you put, "voiced by Mama Whimsy", it just tickles me pink.
I'm currently listening to Across the Universe, which has two narrators! It's pretty fun.
Thanks pumpkin ;)
DeleteOMG Across the Universe on audio. SO cool. I wish my library had A Million Suns on audio. They have a great adult collection but not much in YA. Boooo!
Oh I just love it! I love that Mama Whimsy is narrating already :)
ReplyDeleteI'm listening to An Incomplete Revenge which is book 5 in the Maisie Dobbs series. I've not started reading a new book yet. I'm studying for finals :(
Thanks :D
DeleteAn Incomplete Revenge? I can't wait to hear more. I've considered that series.
Good luck with your finals.
*fingers crossed*
Baby Whimsy is getting so big! Adorable
ReplyDeleteShe is. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI loved The Language of Flowers! I'll be interested to see what you think of it. Such a unique story.
Thank you :) I'm quite smitten with her and pretty proud too.
DeleteYou're right. It is totally unique. Like nothing I've ever read before.
I wish that school didn't run my life so I would have time to read for pleasure. What's that like again?

DeleteSweet baby! My daughter loved 5 Little Monkeys and There's a Wocket in My Pocket.

awww . . . baby whimsy is as pretty as she is smart.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI think smart is the biggest compliment :)
Awwwww.....I love the little peeks at Baby Whimsy. She's a doll! :) We enjoy Dr. Seuss around here, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteWhich is your fav?
Awww!!! Baby whimsy is ADORABLE!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteShe is so precious! And Oh the Thinks You Can Think is Kaitlyn's FAVORITE! I know it by heart, we have read it so many times. I never really "got" Dr. Seuss until I started reading his books to K.
ReplyDeleteI know it by heart too. I looooove it.
DeleteI totally agree too.
I didn't get it until I started reading it.
So far the ones I love, I really love.
Mr. Whimsy has his favs and I have mine.
Luckily they tend to be different so she gets to experience a bit of Dr. Suess with each one of us.
Oh my gosh! Is that a little snippet of Baby Whimsy?! So precious!
ReplyDeleteHere's a book to save for when she's a couple years older...my first graders are in love with Pete the Cat on audio/or Nook Color. He's so much fun.
It is :) Thank you :) We are soooo crazy about her.
DeleteOooo I'm off to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.
