What We've Been Listening To...


Mama Whimsy has been listening to The Language of Flowers written by Vanessa Diffenbaugh and narrated by Tara Sands. Baby Whimsy has been listening to Oh, the Thinks You Can Think! written by Dr. Seuss and voiced by Mama Whimsy. What have you been reading or listening to this week or lately?

  2. I'm reading Cold Flat Junction, a mystery story with a wisecracking 12 year old protagonist. Love it but want to read it more than I have time to and it's killing me.

    Oh, the lovely Dr. Suess days! So precious! Are You My Mother? is my favorite Suess but I learned to read with One Fish, Two Fish and Go Dog Go.

  6. I have a copy of The Language of Flowers but haven't read it yet. One of the many books stacked on the floor of my office, waiting to be read...

    I hope you are enjoying the audio! I recently listened to Little Princes by Conor Grennan on audio and I thought it was excellent.

    I am glad Baby Whimsy is enjoying Dr. Seuss. I loved it when my mom read to me or told me stories. Some of my earliest memories...

  13. Nice picks! I've heard the first one is pretty good, though no experience with it myself...however baby Whimsy's choice, fabulous! Dr Seuss is a favorite at any age. ^_^

  14. I've been reading a Nicholas Sparks (my first novel by him)and a Christian novel by Colleen Coble, plus I just finished Bewitching. So many great books out there! =)

    2. She is doing great! Loves to cuddle especially at night when we sleep. Right in between the hubby and I, so she can touch both pf us, and yet keep us separated :)

    I'm listening to An Incomplete Revenge which is book 5 in the Maisie Dobbs series. I've not started reading a new book yet. I'm studying for finals :(

  38. She is so precious! And Oh the Thinks You Can Think is Kaitlyn's FAVORITE! I know it by heart, we have read it so many times. I never really "got" Dr. Seuss until I started reading his books to K.

      I didn't get it until I started reading it.

      So far the ones I love, I really love.
      Mr. Whimsy has his favs and I have mine.
      Luckily they tend to be different so she gets to experience a bit of Dr. Suess with each one of us.

    Here's a book to save for when she's a couple years older...my first graders are in love with Pete the Cat on audio/or Nook Color. He's so much fun.
