What's Up, Buttercup? What Lady Whimsy Has Been Up To...

1. Baby Whimsy now wakes up and browses through her books. Sometimes she even flips through the pages and babbles like she's pretending to read. I love it. So much so that I tweeted this:

2. Got my "first taste of fall" with a Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks. I didn't think it was possible to love something more than the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but I do. I am after all an utter slave to all things sweet & salty. Also in this picture is the new winter edition of my favorite mag on the planet. It's called Flea Market Style and if you love thrift shopping and upcycling you MUST get your hands on it.

3. I received One Year in Coal Harbor by Polly Horvath for review. Wahoo! This adorable cover just screams fall to me. I want to sit up in that tree with Primrose. Except I would bring a thermos of hot cocoa.

4. The darling Danielle of There's a Book made my month by gifting me 3 books I have been hoping and wishing for. How she remembers something like that blows my mind. If you don't know Danielle, you MUST change that. She is one of the sweetest and most thoughtful bloggers I have ever had the honor and pleasure of interacting with. She is my unofficial sister from another mother.

Now tell me, what's new with you?

  2. That is absolutely adorable! I love winter solely because Starbucks has peppermint everything (although I always have to substitute soy...ugh, milk allergy)

    1. OMG yes. I adore peppermint and chocolate together. YUM! Peppermint Bark chocolates are another weakness of mine. ;) And I have a bit of lactose intolerance so I'm with you on the soy thing. *high five*

    2. haha yay, someone else who is lactose intolerant (although I wouldn't wish it on anyone). I just discovered lactose free yogurt so my life is whole again. Also that little Jane Eyre book is adorable!

    3. I feel ya!

Wanna know something random and awesome? While I was pregnant (and for many months afterwards) I could eat and drink all the milk I wanted. Apparently my body decided the baby needed the calcium and it allowed me to consume it for her. It was SO much fun.

It's definitely on the list of pregnancy perks I miss and look forward to experiencing again.

  3. How am I not following you on twitter. Okay, fixed that. My littlest monkey loves looking at books as well. He's just a little younger than baby Whimsy. So much fun. I haven't tried the salted caramel. I'll have to do that, but I am still in denial. I'm not ready for fall.

Ida B is what snapped me out of mine.

Is this the first time all the kiddos are in school?

She did? That's awesome! That Danielle. She should get the most thoughtful award.

*high five* Fellow peppermint lover ;)

One day a few months ago I heard a little girl asking her mama for books. I remember thinking to myself, "I can exert self control for my bookish desires but there is no way I am going to be able to say no to Baby Whimsy."
In short, I'm so going to be in trouble. ;)

  12. Baby Whimsy looks so adorable! And how wonderful of Danielle to gift you the books!

  13. Sounds like you been really enjoying life lately, that's awesome! I'm happy you're culturing the desire to read in your little one. That's the greatest gift to give, both my two grown children still love to read. Now its finding the time which is always the challenge.

As for me, what's up? Well, getting lots of reading done, usually at night, in the car (listening to audio) and while doing chores. We have been camping almost every weekend of summer and I'm getting tons of MX riding in lately.

My favorite audio book as of late was Please Ignore Vera Dietz - very good read! So there ya have it....
