Which leads me to the awesomeness I want to share with you today, check out the book wall art. The owner of my local architectural salvage and antique shop has covered a room in her shop with old book pages and has a curly swirl of books climbing up the wall to the ceiling. Isn't it grand? She even has little shapes popping from the pages!
What else have I been up to?
Sometimes I feel like Blogger's captcha is Juju proofing.

Now you tell me, what's the story morning glory?
Reading anything fabulous? Get any Christmas shopping done?
I have been so obsessed with Baby Whimsy's upcoming December
birthday that I haven't purchased a single Christmas gift! Bad Juju!

Juju, you are so easy to love (from an online friend who hasn't met you, lol)
ReplyDeleteFunks are terrible, wish we can ban them.
Juju, give up the SCRUNCHIES, PLEASE!!!!! at least in public, how about just at home, lol. I'm seriously giggling at that one. Do you match your outfits or do you just go with black and brown???
Jane Austen for the night and tea with mom, awww, sweet.
Loved this post hon.
I have ideas for Christmas but haven't started anything.
Awwww *hugs* Thank you :D *giant grin*
DeleteAren't they? They're the pits!
LOL I won't. I refuse. Luckily I have huge curly brown hair so you can barely see my black Scrunchie in there. ;)
Thanks :)
Oh thank heavens I'm not the only one running so late on the Christmas shopping.
I LOVE that photo from the architectural/antique place. How whimsical and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI hope your funk ends soon. Also: Baby Whimsy is the most adorable thing to ever be adorable. Good job.
I haven't done any Christmas shopping, but I have many, many ideas (which I've been stockpiling in my Amazon 'Shopping List'), and as soon as I have a free moment I'm going out and getting it all done!
p.s. I really recommend the new film LINCOLN. It may not be reading, but it's AWESOME.
Right? I thought so too!
DeleteMe too! Funks are the pits.
Awwww thank you :D We think so too.
You go girl! Maybe I should try that technique.
Oooooo Lincoln does look good. I can't wait to see it. Thanks for the recommendation :)
Christmas sneaks up way to fast around this household. Working twelve hour shifts really condenses the holiday season for me. Sounds like you are having tons of fun with the family and most importantly, baby Whimsy. She is a living doll! I'm sorry you are in such a reading slump. I wish I could recommend something fresh to you. I just finished House of Shadows. Its a fantasy/sci-fi story which reads like a fairy tale. The story is character driven and told from three main character perspectives. Eventually the stories converge. I was sad to close the cover flap and end the story.
ReplyDeleteOh dang! I can imagine.
DeleteThank you :D
I've been wanting to try that one. :)
Thanks for the recommendation.
I agree with Marce...you are so easy to love:) ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteThat book wall art is awesome...I wish I had a dedicated office space to play in like that! Enjoy the time with your mom and the extra time to sneak away with Mr Whimsy.
I haven't even begun my Christmas shopping either/nor my Thanksgiving planning. My sister just asked me what dish she should bring for Thanksgiving and I paniced! LOL I need to get on that...25 people will not feed themselves!
Baby Whimsy looks adorable in her costume...stay warm...the snow is already flying here on the Jersey Shore!
Aw thank you :)
DeleteYou're hosting Thanksgiving? You go girl! And for 25? *hugs*
Let us know how it goes! :)
Oh no! I was in a funk earlier last month and I read the Hollywood Nobody series... I think I can kindle lend them to you, actually. Also, adorable baby Whimsy is adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhat sounds more appetizing to you: pecan caramel biscotti or egg nog biscotti?
You so sweet!
DeleteI'm going to sample that one.
Pecan caramel biscotti or egg nog biscotti? HOLY CRAP I have to pick? I pick egg nog biscotti.
You mean I'm running late? I've barely begun to think about Christmas. I think I'm in denial.
ReplyDeleteI've been in a bit of a funk too. Maybe something in the air?
I love the tweets that you featured. I look forward to seeing your avatar pop up in my stream. Hoping you have a great day.
PS how is it that baby whimsy is almost 1? Time is passing much too quickly.
LOL :)
DeleteYes! It's like a bookflu!
Awwww really? You just made my day!
Amen sister! A year?! Blows my mind.
I hate when I'm in a funk and I don't feel like reading anything. Especially, when it happens after an amazing book, and everything pales in comparison. Hope you're out of it soon! :D
ReplyDeleteThat is such a neat idea! I'd love to decorate my walls with books!
Right? I feel lost without a paddle.
DeleteI understand a funk--I have been there myself! Love the baby Princess Leia though!! And date nights are always good. Hope you find something good soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteIt's ok to be in a reading funky spot...and Baby Whimsy is precious...and date night is so much fun...enjoy...you can shop anytime...love the book art!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteBeen there! Sometimes it's hard to break the book funk...but keep trying! Baby Whimsy's costume is brilliant and she's so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI shall!
Again... your little girl is so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those tweets - unfortunately I didn't love Dark Shadows. Perhaps that has something to do with my dislike of all things vampires. ;D
Hope you can find some books that interest you soon! I know what you are saying though - I've been there too often.
Thank you :)
DeleteI feel ya. I think it's the way it poked fun of vamps that made it funny to me. I can relate, I've been on a vamp diet for years now. ;)
You've been too busy to read! You need something light and fun right about now.
ReplyDeleteYes! Any suggestions? ;)
DeleteI have felt the same for the whole year! I am SO behind on my reading goals, and I've hardly fell in love with any books this year... really only one comes to mind (The Fault in Our Stars). This is so sad because it's usually a few books that I fall in love with every year. Oh well. Here's hoping 2013 is a better bookish year for the both of us. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Really? Eeek.
DeleteI have to try that book.
Amen sister! I will toast to that.
Ugh, I hate reading funks! I usually cope by watching lots and lots of TV instead. Hopefully something catches your eye soon! Also, what a precious little girl!!!
ReplyDeleteGood idea! :)
DeleteThank you :)
Reading funks can be fun! You'll be fine! I mean, look at what you've been up to ... exciting stuff! And you have got to stop making baby Whimsy so freaking cute .. i just want to squeeze her cute little cheek :)
ReplyDeleteVery true :)
Delete*smile* Thank you!
I love your tweets! They make me laugh. I especially like the scrunchies comment. You are hilarious! I also wish my brain could highlight and save. I feel like I still have pregnancy brain; I can't remember anything! And regarding Christmas shopping, I haven't done any yet, but I think I will start soon and probably online b/c I definitely don't want to face the malls with a three month old! I hope you get out of your reading funk soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteYay!
I love hearing that.
OMG preggo brain takes for-ever to go away.
Mr. Whimsy hated it.
LOL he was always joking that he couldn't wait for my brain to come back.
Amen sister! Mall with a three month old sounds like HECK!
Good luck and thank you :)
That is some amazing book art. Time is flying by for me...one more month till the end of my school semester and finally I'll have some more time to catch up on reading.
ReplyDeleteYayyyyyyy! Fly time fly!
DeleteReading funks SUCK but I guess when you read so much of the same, it takes a lot ot be impressed. I had a reading funk over the summer and it depressed me, at least you are having fun though!
ReplyDeleteI love Baby as Princess Leila! That is absolutely fabulous. I bet you're excited to show her 14 years from now! :)
I love you tea set by the way, it looks so peaceful! Me gusta.
Have a good week lady!
<3
Amber Elise @ Du Livre
Yup!
DeleteThank you :)
That beautiful set was at my local tea shop! It is beautiful! And I love that you said "me gusta"! Bravo darling :)
I've been in a terrible awful funk recently too. Thus the lack of posting on my own site. I'm pretty sure I burnt the candle at both ends trying to finish writing my book last month. I've had a terrible time trying to get up the nerve to write reviews and even, *gasp*, read. :( It's horrible. So I'm right there with you! Boo. Let's hope for both of us things turn around quickly. *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteLove the decorations! Wow! I think I'd be in heaven there and never want to leave.
And Christmas?! Who said anything about Christmas? I only have two gifts purchased and nothing else. Part of that is due to the fact we're traveling for Thanksgiving and I'm trying to keep my head above water with focusing on one thing at a time. LOL
Sending you lots of love and bookish fairy dust! Lets hope it brings the funk to a close. ;o)
OMG I thought it was just me but it seems to be running around like a flu!
DeleteTraveling? Really? Where to? :)
Thank you sweetpea! I could use some bookish fairy dust.
I send you healing vibes and Godspeed on your travels.
I've been really crazy busy lately, which means I am waaaay behind on my reading as well. *sigh* Life is getting in the way!!! I hope you get out of your funk soon!
ReplyDeleteBaby Whimsy is so darn cute! :)
Those socks looks super comfy! I'm jealous!
Right? Naughty Life ;)
DeleteThank you :)
I haven't purchased one single Christmas gift yet! (gasp)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you are having a much needed break and lots of fun. Enjoy your hubby
and get your sweet, Baby Whimsey ready for birthday parties! :)
I'm currently reading The Dressmaker by Kate Alcot. It is good so far. I just finished the Devil in the White City. SOOO GOOD!!!!
~Liz
Eeek!
DeleteI am thank you.
Ooooo I considered that one! Enjoy! :)
Bloggers Captcha is Felicia proofing too. I tried 4 times the other day to put in a comment and it just didn't like me :)
ReplyDeleteAww the curse of the books that cause the slump. Been there, done that and no one thing works to get me out.
However if you having listened to Patrick Stewart reading A Christmas Carol you should. That might help :)
Right?
DeleteOMG it's pathetic how many times it takes me sometimes LOL
You know! I kinda love that idea! Thank you! I read it a few years ago and really liked it.
I love all the twitter updates....:) Im rarely on Twitter anymore but I should check it out more often.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is the cutest most adorable Princess Leah ever.
And PS- Im in a terrible reading funk too, I cant even listen to books right now Im so burnt out. I tried to pick up Twilight again and thought wow this is so stupid why did I ever like it??? Yeah thats a bad reading funk. Maybe we can find some good books and help us get out of it.
Maybe try One Pink Line or Take This Regret, those might get you reading again.
Thank you :)
DeleteOMG you too? *group hug* Supernatural Snark is right, it is a group funk. Oh goodness that is bad.
We need a group funk support group!
I'm in a funk, as well. I'm reading but not too much is WONDERFUL & I usually read everything. It's just been ok lately. So sad. At least we're not alone ;)
ReplyDeleteOh no! It really is in the water.
Delete*hug*
Hahaha I loved that post, that was hilarious!
ReplyDelete"wouldn't it be nice to be able to highlight & save" - YES!
Loved the Princess Leia costume.
And I love the open book decorating! My local used book store used cook covers to decorate, I should go take a pic..
Thanks :)
DeleteOooooo really? I want to see! Please do!
I love the tweets and baby Whimsy is adorable! I love the book art! I was also in a bit of a funk but I read The Comeback Season by Jennifer E. Smith and it really helped. I'm the kind of person who reads 25-30 pages and takes a break but with The Comeback Season I hardly stopped at all. How are you doing with audio books? I really liked OF POSEIDON by Anna Banks another fun book that might help get you out of the funk. I'm so glad you are on twitter because if at least you don't post I can always reach out and tweet!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI'll have to look that one up.
I was just considering Of Poseidon so it's funny you mentioned it ;)
I hear you! How long did my book funk last, yep an entire year. This too shall pass (plus you have twitter and that totally counts)
ReplyDeleteShut up! OMG that's terrible. Was this while blogging?
DeletePrincess Leia baby= ADORABLE! I understand what you mean I haven't read a book recently that I feel madly in love with..alot of likes but not a lot of LOVES!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteYes! I want to fall head-over-heels who-cares-about-sleep in love with a book right now.
Sorry to hear you are in a book funk. It is always so frustrating when they happen, but a book break often makes the next read that much better. Love the wall art and Baby Princess Leia :)
ReplyDeleteThat's very true :)
DeleteThank you!
Don't worry, you'll get out to that slump soon. I know there's the perfect Christmas title out there waiting for you. =O)
ReplyDeleteLove that bookish wall art. Can I say covet?
I'm afraid the Christmas shopping will be widely spaced out due to financial constraints.
Thanks :)
DeleteMy lack of Christmas reads is kind of depressing me. I'm always such a prolific Christmas reader.
I feel you on the financial constraints. We're making some presents this year to help with costs.
What's worse than being in a funk? Not having as much time to read as you would like. I miss it. We'll stay tuned for when you're done being funky. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I think a funk is worse. I always make time to read or listen to a book. Even if it's while doing dishes. ;) But I feel ya.
DeleteSo what's got you busy? :)
Aww, sorry to hear that, but in my experience they always pass! You could always try rereading an old favourite - that helps me sometimes. Very cool art design!!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty proud of myself this year: I did all of my Christmas shopping at the beginning of October (a first for me!) so now I get to avoid any painful crowds. It must be tough having a child who's birthday is also in December and having to plan that, too! I'm sure it will all work out just fine though :)
Someone else was just saying that.
DeleteI totally might. :)
You go girl!!!!
I do hate the crowds.
It is tough.
I thought it would be tough because it's gets overshadowed but I never imagined it would be tough because it's all I care about. :)
Thank you :) I'm sure you're right.
sometimes a book funk is a good thing--you can enjoy things like mama's visit and upcoming birthday's. Baby JuJu is an adorable princess Leia.
ReplyDeleteYou think? :)
DeleteTrue true!
I didn't think of it that way.
Thank you sweetie.
So many of us have been in funks lately! I was in one almost all of last month and I'm just now slowly coming out of it. At least we're all in it together - group funk:) It causes me stress when I'm in a funk though, I just get all nervous that I'll never pull out of it which is ridiculous, I know I will, but it's still not a fun place to be. I hope you find that amazing book that reignites your love for reading!
ReplyDeleteOMG it's like in the water!
DeleteGroup funk.
LOL ;)
I feel like that too.
I feel all lost without a paddle.
I can totally relate on the whole book funk thing. Ergh. Just...nothing's cutting it lately. Drat.
ReplyDeleteAnd Baby Whimsy is SO freaking adorable. Oh my gosh. *heart*
YES! *high five*
DeleteThank you :)
Hopefully you can find something that'll break your book funk. I know that I'm kind of in and out of that myself. I'm having a tough time finding something that'll really hold my interest and so I've started more books lately than I've managed to finish. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteBTW, Baby Whimsy as Princess Leia = ADORABLE!!
Oh bummer you too!? *hug*
DeleteThank you :)
Awww...I hate to hear you're in a reading funk! I hate when that happens. :P That book display is awesome! If I had a place around where I live like that, I might end up spending a bit too much time away from home. I have to snicker a bit at the scrunchies. ;) I finally found some of those elastic bands that don't have metal in them, and they don't rip my hair out quite as bad. I live in those things these days. Otherwise, I'd still happily be using scrunchies, too!!
ReplyDeleteAnd your adorable Baby Whimsy...that might just be the cutest baby costume I've seen this year! Precious!
Yes! OMG right? I want to.
DeleteThat's the problem with Scrunchie alternatives - nothing is as gentle and lovely. ;)
Thank you!
Reading funks are never fun :( But don't think about it, just have fun with other things (like making more cute outfits for Baby Whimsy--omGOSH THOSE LEIA BUNS. So cute! I can't handle the adorbz. *explodes*).
ReplyDeleteWow, Baby Juju's going to be a year old already! Time sure has flown by...I'm sure she has you smiling every day :)
Hah, Christmas shopping. I never go out ahead of time for presents; I'm guilty of waiting till the last minute but then I usually find something perfect and I thank the holiday gods for letting me get away with it. Hopefully they'll bestow some of that fortune again this year...
Right? :) I was just working on decorations for her party.
DeleteLOL at your *explodes* ;) You're so cute.
I know right? Kids really make you aware of time.
She does make me smile every day. She's our little light. So fun and sweet.
Ooooo sounds like you have good Christmas giver karma. Can I rub your arm for luck? ;)
Hey that wall of books decor is a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I thought so too!
DeleteOMG - the baby Princess Leia is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI was in a reading slump for over 6 months. It was horrible! I hope you come out of it soon.
6 months? OMG seriously? I hope that doesn't happen to me. How did you survive? What did you do with your blog?
DeleteI absolutely relate on the book fun thing. It's like writer'S block, but actually reader'S block. :/
ReplyDeleteAnd OMG -- your baby is the cutest thing ever!!! <3
Thank you :D
DeleteThis year for me have been full of funk o rama. Even though I've gained in some areas (audio), I've fallen waaaaaaaaay behind in reading. Oh well. Life takes over and you just gotta roll.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Awwwww a year of funk? I thought I had it bad.
DeleteThank goodness for audios.
Amen! You do just have to roll.
*giant hug back*
Oh and your little one is precious!
ReplyDeleteThanks sweetie! I bet you're little one is giant by now huh? :)
DeleteI hear you about the funk. I am in and out of reviewing right now and reading is harder with an infant who wants to grab and eat your book!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is adorable!
Yes! Amen sister. I read only digital books now (on my iPod). Anything bigger or paper is out of the question.
DeleteThank you!!!
I want to see your babes!
I'm off to see if you're on Twitter.
I get in funks too. Have you tried a book by one of your favorite authors? Oh, I know!! Read Daughter of Jerusalem by Joan Wolf (she wrote This Scarlet Cord and I remember that you loved that one). It's about the life of Mary Magdalene and it is outstanding!!
ReplyDeleteI started my shopping in September. I wanted to get a head start before I start getting my usual winter extended illnesses (flu, bronchitis, sometimes even a good pneumonia). So I've got most of it done, or at least ordered, much of it wrapped, all in time to go to the dr today and find out I have my first flu of the season! YAY ME!!!
Good luck getting out of the funk. I am also a mommy ninja with my creaky floorboards. I have also instructed my UPS man to NEVER ring the doorbell! When people come to the door and wake her up I want to CUT THEM!!!
Oooooo great idea! I'm so looking that up!
DeleteGood girl! Smart thinking!
Right? Exactly! I feel like biting and karate kicking anyone that comes near the front of the house. LOL
Psssst Kelli Daughter of Jerusalem isn't out till April. Bummer too because I would love to read about Mary this time of year.
DeleteI know how you feel completely!! There are times I tell my friends I have nothing to read and they look at me like I'm completely insane because I probably have over a 100 books that need to be read, but nothing strikes my fancy. Hopefully you'll get out of this funk soon!
ReplyDeleteRight? Yes! It has to "strike my fancy"! Thank you sweetie :)
DeleteYour tweets are the best. Sorry to hear you're in a reading funk, but it happens to all of us. You'll come through. My go-to plan when it happens is to reread some old favorites that are guarenteed to make me happy.
ReplyDeleteChristmas shopping... well, got a big start on it last night (can you smell my credit card smoking?), but I still have a long way to go before I'm done. My parents and a few sibs are coming to visit during the holidays, so I've been more focused on getting prepped for that :)
Thank you :)
DeleteIt sure does happen to all of use.
Old favorites? Nice idea. Why haven't I ever thought of that?
You go girl!
Oh yah prepping for people can be exhausting.
Oh I love your tweets! I need to figure out how to do that. I'm thinking you need to slowly let go of the scrunchies. Maybe just one at a time.
ReplyDeleteReading funks are so hard to shake sometimes. I understand. I think the harder you fight it the worse it is. Just go with the flow, me thinks.
Thanks :D
DeleteLOL
Let go of my Scrunchies? NE-VER ;)
I was just thinking it's time to buy more.
Yes! What an excellent point.
That's exactly how it went.
Are you seriously talking about purchasing Christmas presents already? Oy. If you are worried, then I am screwed. I haven't even thought about present ideas yet!!
ReplyDeleteI love Baby Juju as Princess Leia! Adorbs!!
I was in a funk too. All it takes a few not-so-great books to get you there, doesn't it? Hopefully, you will find the right book to get you out of your funk!!
Yes! I use to be all done by this time.
DeleteI was SO good and ready.
Black Friday was just my extras.
Now I'm all like, "Whatevs." LOL ;)
When do you usually start shopping?
Thank you :)
Will you believe I already have plans for her next Halloween? ;)
Yes! Exactly. A few blahs in a row did me in.
Aw, what an adorable baby Princes Leia she made!!
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, your tweets had me laughing so hard! Especially the one about Santa. Christmas is doomed the moment Santa gets on Twitter. ;) Hope you find something good to read!
Thank you :)
DeleteYay!
That made my day.
Right? Santa would be on to everyone's naughtiness!
Oh my goodness, your daughter is adorable!!!! What a cute Princess Leia!
ReplyDeleteAnd you know I'm in a book funk too.. I feel ya!
Thank you :)
DeleteIt's crazy how everyone is suffering through the same thing.
Your post from today has me thinking, maybe I should try some cookbooks.
:)
Hello, doll :))
DeleteCan I please, pleasssse have your tea cup set? :)
You're so cute. These are actually at a little tea house in town. Aren't they great? I do have a splendid tea set of my own that I'm saving for Baby Whimsy.
DeleteAww, reading slumps are the worst. Have you ever read DASH AND LILY'S BOOK OF DARES? (I forgot if you have) if not, check it out...partially seasonal and totally sweet/good read. ^_^
ReplyDeleteAren't they?
DeleteI haven't. I should check that out! Thanks for the recommendation doll.
That book sculpture is so awesome! I love that things pop up from the pages!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Baby Whimsy is too cute as Princess Leia! Awww!
I'm sorry you're in a reading slump! I'm sure you'll find an absolutely amazing book that will get you back into reading soon, especially with all the awesome early 2013 releases that are coming out :)
Me too :)
DeleteThank you!
I beat it luckily.
But thank you for all your awesome well wishes.
