Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick on Audio

Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick kicks off with a Adventures in Babysitting (1987) vibe. So you smile and settle in for a little adventure and then BOOM! You're wrong. It's faster, wilder, and the chick really is quite crazy. The stuff she's capable of and pulls off made my jaw drop several times. Plus, unlike any book I've ever read or listened to before, the story is constantly climaxing. There is so much action that I kept thinking, "This must be it. It must end soon. This guy can't possibly take anymore." It never hits a lull or even slows down for that matter. It's awesome from start to finish and it begs to be a movie. I can't wait to listen to book two, Perry's Killer Playlist.

Wooed: Each chapter starts with a college admissions essay question that foreshadows that chapter.

Whine: Long pauses in between chapters.

Words aloud: I loved Steven Boyer. He is a perfect Perry and I really liked his accents. He has great vocal inflections. This is a nearly perfect audio listen. I strongly suggest you consider the audio.

Whippersnappers: This story is intense and sometimes bloody. Expect infidelity, profanity, murder, violence, and *HIGHLIGHT for the last word and minor spoiler* mentions to human trafficking.

Wrapping: I really like the cover but I think some of these fit it better.

Wind-up: Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick by Joe Schreiber, is narrated by Steven Boyer, published by Recorded Books, and is 5 hours and 7 minutes long. Audiobook rating: 5 stars. Narrator rating: 5 stars.

  2. Wow sounds intense! I didn't think judging from the cover and title it would be so dark.

  3. I read this in print and it was a little far fetched for me.

  4. These sound great. Another great selection to look forward to. I'm a sucker for narrators that do an accent well.

  5. I kind of like the Ciao for Now title/cover.

As you know, you liked this more than me but I agree it was action packed so I'm thinking if I give book #2 a try I'm going to listen to the audio.

This will make an awesome movie. I heard they were making one but no news as of late.

  8. It sounds all sorts of awesome! I'll definitely read this, on paper or on audio I'm not sure, but I will. I was already curious for the title, but your enthusiasm is contagious!

  9. I had so much fun reading this, and now I think I should give it a listen on audio before I tackle the sequel. Maybe I'll get them both for audio now. Glad you enjoyed this, and thanks for sharing those covers, they're gorgeous! You're right, I think they fit the story a bit better than the US cover. Great review :-)

  10. I don't know that this would have ever popped up on my radar if not for you. It does sound like the narration was spot on but the production was a little off (I hate chapter pauses--I don't get to the end of a chapter in a book and sit there for 10 seconds before turning the page. Music at the end of chapters drives me nuts too LOL)!

    Great REview!

  11. I seriously can't decide if I want to read or listen to this book. Sounds amazing and I know I have a copy of it but sometimes I just want to listen to a book. You know?

  15. I'm opposite you - I don't like the covers - ugh. Oh well, can't please everyone. As for each chapter starting with a college entrance exam question foreshadowing the chapter - well that's super cool - l think that would draw me in for sure.
