|1 magical dress + 4 different brides|
Truth: I don't usually do wedding stories anymore. Again something different must be happening for me to be willing to hang out while Mr. Oh-No-He-Didn't and the Little Miss battle cold feet and family obligations.
That being said, if it hadn't been for Joy's review of The Wedding Dress audio (over at Edgy Inspirational Fiction) I probably never would have given this audiobook a chance. I honestly would have judged it by it's super sweet cover. But boy am I glad I did read Joy's review. The Wedding Dress is contemporary Christian Fiction at it's best. It's special, magical, and godly. It's full of strong amazing women and some pretty great guys too. It has a little bit of history, mystery, and a lot of heart. To say that I really dug The Wedding Dress would be putting it mildly. This book made me alternate between smiles and nerves. I was really worried about one of the characters for awhile. The ending was a little picture-perfect but all-in-all it is a great book and a fun journey.
Word to the wise: While there are four different brides, the book primarily focuses on two of them.
Wrapping: By the end Rachel converted me and I was in love with the cover. I kept looking at it and wishing I could zoom in and see the dress better.
Words aloud: The Wedding Dress is narrated by Eleni Pappageorge. Eleni was perfect for this book. Her Southern accents felt natural and she gave each character a slightly different inflection that made it easy to identify the characters. The only thing I didn't love love about her was her take on elderly voices. It seemed a tad exaggerated. Otherwise she is a gem. I will be seeking her out again. Audiobook rating: 4.5 stars. Narrator rating: 5 stars.
The Wedding Dress is Christian Fiction book written by Rachel Hauck, narrated by Eleni Pappageorge, 9 hours and 50 minutes long, and published Oasis Audio and Thomas Nelson.
