Spring Blooms

We moved into our new home last year on the cusp of fall, so this spring each plant and tree is extra sweet and seems new. Do you have a favorite spring bloom?

  2. I'm so happy to see that spring has reached your home as well! And those flowers are beautiful :)

I don't have a favorite spring bloom but I'm partial to anything that's blue or purple <3

I'm from Florida and I don't remember forsythia down there but we have some here and I LOVE them. And they grow super easy I hear from a cutting. I SOOOOO want to plant a bunch more.

  4. What lovely blooms to welcome you to the spring season in your new home! Cherry blossoms are my favorites! With the extra cold winter we had, everything has been late to bloom this year in NYC.

  5. Beautiful pictures! The Bradford pears are blooming in full force here. I saw beautiful cherry trees, weeping crabapples, and even magnolias at the botanical gardens this weekend. They were all gorgeous!

    1. Yes here too. (Bradford pears) We have two beautiful ones in our front yard. They smell bad but they're soooo lovely.

The smell reminds me of fish but I'm getting use to it.

Ooooo I want a weeping crabapple.

I was just telling Charlotte, I loooooove magnolias. I secretly want to name a girl Magnolia. Like in Hart of Dixie.

I loved your pictures from the garden btw.

  7. How gorgeous, Juju - thanks for sharing these... and if I never said it, CONGRATS on your move. Betting that was exciting.

My favorite spring blooms are probably tulips (have some on my kitchen table now!) or apple blossoms... although there is another one I heart too... unfortunately I cannot remember its name. ;)

    1. Thank you. It really was. A whole new adventure and world for us first time homebuyers.

      I love tulips!

Come back and tell me if you remember. :)

  9. Beautiful flowers! Thanks so much for sharing them. On a day like today when we are anticipating snow (after a weekend where it hit the 80s), I could really use a reminder that it is actually spring :)

I love flowering trees, especially cherry blossoms and dogwood. I live in an apartment so I only get to enjoy the scenery when I am driving or if I visit my parents who live in the country and have lots of flowers since they love to garden. I am not a flower person (I can identify roses, tulips, and daffodils but that is about it!) but I love all the color that is usually around at this time of year.

    1. Yes. We just got some snow last night. Makes me sad. I'm interested to see what happens to all the lovely blooms.

I think I need some dogwoods. They grow great here and I love them.

Yes ma'am. Every single time it's warm, we're outside. My skin has a healthy glow to prove it. :)

What is that bottom tree? A Dogwood?

  16. So pretty!! One of my favorites around here is our daffodils. One day I came home from an appointment to discover my "sweet" boys had picked each and every one of them(just the flower part), and placed them in a bowl. ;P

  31. So gorgeous!! Spring is such a magical time of year. My favorite blossoms are the Bradford Pear blossoms in late February/early March (here) but we don't have many flowering trees in our area. In May the Crepe Myrtles will start blooming through the end of the summer and I adore those trees!

  33. Beautiful bits of color you have there :) My favorite bloom still is a sunflower. There's something so wonderful about their bulky stalks and delicate petals.

    1. Ooo sunflowers. I like them. I grew them once and they grew SO tall and steady. It was impressive. The way they turn to the sun is something I will never forget and admire about them.
