The Sweetest Equines

We got to meet these gentle fellows at a nearby park the other day.
They even let some kids hug them and Little Miss Whimsy pet them.
I forget their breed but I won't forget their demeanor.

    1. They look very similar but I don't think. These I believe are shorter and stockier.

Thank you sweetie. I hope you're having an awesome week.

  7. Are those Shetland Ponies? I don't have horses, never have, but I love them. As a kid we got to take rides on my cousin's neighbor's pony. I am probably wrong though. We need an equine enthusiast to set us straight :) Thanks for sharing.

    1. I don't think so. They were more mid sized (taller) though not as tall as a typical horse and I believe from Finland originally maybe?

      Awww that's awesome.

Thank you for coming by and trying to help me figure it out.

  14. They are adorable and I bet Miss Whimsy fell in love. My sister in law has some ponies like these and I keep meaning to introduce Elle to them! (they live out of town).

    1. She really did. When we first got there she thought horses were similar to cows and mooed. Now she knows they neigh and can point out horses. It was a fun day.

  15. I remember seeing some similar horses near my place but I don't speak horse either so I don't know their breed. They are so much fun to be with.

  27. That color has always been one of my favorites on horses. Those look so sweet! My family used to raise horses when I was younger, and they aren't always sweet! (as I'm sure most people know.) ;)

  31. Looks like a Fjord Draft Horse! It's the dun colouring and black stripe down the mane that makes me think that. I absolutely adore horses and in my spare time I like to research breeding and genes in horses... heh, so that's my guess. They look so sweet!

I did not know that about you. I love that I just learned something new that you love. Do you ride as well?

    2. I do ride, but I haven't had the opportunity in a long while. Hopefully I can make time this summer!

    3. That would be awesome. I don't ride but a friend of mine tells me, it brings her a peace nothing else in the world quite does.

  32. I took my oldest horseback riding the other day for his first time. It was so fun to share something like that with him especially since I have such fond memories of riding on my grandfather's farm.
