Little Things Mean A Lot

This week I'm grateful for time with Little Miss Whimsy's great grandparents. Mr. Whimsy and I don't remember ours and we both delight in seeing our little gal bonding with hers.

For a dinner date and coffee date with friends.

For finding sushi I like. Yay maki sushi! I now totally get how people can put down massive amounts of sushi. That was me on Saturday. The one I tried had avocado, crab, dried pork, and egg wrapped in rice and seaweed.

For Mr. Whimsy buying me a veggettiHoo-ray! I told him about it and he ran out and got me one. I haven't used it yet but I'm so excited to.

And for all the lovely bright colors in my closet. I went shopping and didn't buy a single black thing. I'm so proud. That's big for me.

So tell me dears, what little things are you thankful for this week?

  1. What a sweet photo! I'm thankful for the crazy rain this. As much as it messes with my hair ;), Texas desperately needs it, so I'm embracing it.

    1. Oh that's awesome. Yay for having a good attitude about rain. I hear ya on the crazy rain hair too. That totally happens to me as well. Humidity is not my hair's friend. But I get excited 'cause it makes all my plants so happy.

    2. haha a small part of me secretly loved the drought because it was so nice not to have rain, but we do need it here in TX. Plus, it's nice seeing the lakes, rivers, and streams come back. We also wouldn't have all the beautiful wildflowers everywhere without this rain.

High five for the colored clothing. I'm still stuck in my comfort zone of my default black clothes, but I've branched out and added a few white polka dots for flair :P

  3. I can totally relate to not buying any black. I end up buying so much black too, and couple of months back, I made it my mission to buy colorful clothes. It was hard, but I did it. Yay for you!

    1. Yes! For sooooo long I gravitated to it. Now I refuse to even look at it in the stores. It's time. Something in me shifted and I just knew it was time. :) Thank you!

  4. Lovely photo! It's really sweet that your daughter shares a close relationship with her grandparents. I want a vegetti too! I've been using a julienne peeler and want to take it to the next step. I'm thankful for the warmer but not overly hot weather in NYC this week :)

This week I am thankful that we are getting to the point of go/no go on my project. it really has been draining.

  6. Beautiful photo! I knew 5 of my great-grandparents - my parents were pretty young. The girls met 3 of theirs, although my grandma in Oklahoma passed away, and they don't see my grandfather often. My grandma here in town, however, is their best friend! I'm thankful for her every day.

Other than that, right now, I'm grateful for the progress we're making on cleaning out the girls' rooms. It doesn't feel like progress and it's taking a lot longer than it should, but it should be great when it's done. Or so I just keep telling myself...

  11. What a perfect picture! :)

Yay for coffee dates. And yay for sushi! I LOVE them.

I've been wanting a veggetti since I first saw one in a YouTube blogger video. Have fun with it!

It has been my mission since last year to stop buying black clothes. I haven't fully succeeded but I'm definitely getting better at going for colours! It has to be a forced and conscious decision, though. :)

    1. Thank you. :)

It can be tough. Black is so timeless.

Do you have a color (other than black) that you find yourself gravitating to in this mission for more color? It's shades of blue for me.
